colorful faces 🎭 (Patreon)

god, I love oil pastel so much. it has steadily become one of my favorite art supplies. the fact that it packs a punch in terms of color and application and is also quite malleable and forgiving makes it super satisfying to use. I also love that you don't have to be careful with it (spilling, cleanup, storage) or wait for it to dry, you can just kinda go at it and do your thing.

I've been having a lot of fun drawing random portraits that catch my eye when browsing the internet. things I look out for are faces that have interesting shapes or people whose overall styling (whether it's their hair, clothes, jewelry, etc.) has colors that jump out to me. I've been slowly building a folder filled with screenshots of faces that I'm excited to keep drawing! yay for more opportunities to dirty my hands and get them covered in chunks of oil pastel. :)
