finally taking the time to learn more brush settings (boooringgg~!), specifically the wet mix section in procreate:

I don't tend to spend much time fiddling with settings, because I find it quite tedious. I looove when a brush just feels good to use right out the gate without need for intervention. but as I make more traditional art, I've found myself craving a similar look/experience with my digital art. it's obviously never going to look the same, but I'm having fun finding ways to bridge that gap where I can. this video in particular has been really helpful in understanding the different settings and what to adjust to get a more mixed, painterly look. I've also been mixing it with paper/canvas textures from true grit texture supply to try and roughen things up. much to learn as always!
