I've been doing a lot of sewing lately and naturally it was spurred by my love for newjeans! sewing can feel quite daunting to me at times, so I opted to dip my toes back in with a super simple project: patches! this bunny patch is the first patch I've ever made and I think that speaks to how beginner-friendly it is. I completely freehanded the pattern, deciding sizing and placement as I went, and the finished patch turned out super cute! my partner suggested I sew it onto a jacket pocket and I love how it looks + now I can rep my love for newjeans on my clothes! so fun~ ^o^
for the fish, I used ann wood's free pattern! I'm always interested in finding ways to use up my fabric scraps, especially the really tiny bits, and my favorite way to do so is using them as stuffing. I also ended up sewing a backing on to turn it into a pin! just so stinkin' cute, I love this lil guy!! making this fish seemed super straightforward, though I'm always surprised by how many different skills are involved in making something 'simple'. I love how every project teaches me something new and helps me practice the basics.
forever amused by how cats have a natural affinity for anything sewing related. I swear they have a homing device in their genetic code that seeks out piles of fabric. I don't have to wait long before kuma shows up to sniff around and involve herself in the project. xD
