Hello loves! (=^-ω-^=)

How are you doing today? ^^<3 The weather's been cooling down recently and the cold, foggy morning skies have inspired me to use softer and muted colors in my work. It's been interesting having to hold myself back from using all saturated colors since I tend to love things that are vivid and bright. But...I've been seeing how less saturated colors can bring a new dimension to artwork and that they actually help other colors stand out better! I used to think grays were boring but now I'm seeing I couldn't have been more wrong. xD

Above: This month's postcard. I wanted to stick with the theme of stars and magic and draw something that feels like a world of its own. I've also been into cute art lately and wanted things to look soft and approachable. I really loved the idea of tea that takes on the image of a night sky (and perhaps changes? making another piece with sunrise tea could be neat...) and thought it'd be the perfect setting for our little imaginary world. ^^

Usually, the postcard drawing inspires the sticker artwork but this month it was the other way around! I've been getting back into the habit of reading fiction lately and have found a lot of inspiration in written word. I recently finished A Tale For the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki and her mastery of imagery drew up many strong pictures in my mind. She injects a lot of magic into her writing through manipulation of time and nature and it makes the changing environment feel all the more substantial. Her momentous writing drove me to create art filled with emotional waves and movement.

Here are the process gifs for each piece! d(=^・ω・^=)b

I love the drawing you did for the postcard. I totally interpreted it as a nod to the Mid Autumn Festival and Chang-E and the rabbit in the moon in Chinese mythology. But your explanation works, too. Its a really lovely, relaxing picture.

Gorgeous as always! I'm so delighted to have these as my first patreon reward from you. I love the colors, it's always nice to see softer, pastel colors.

Oh, I looooooove this postcard! It's so lovely! Also brings up the important question: why hasn't some eccentric billionaire designed a hot tub that looks like a cute teacup yet?? haha

Stephanie Lewis
