The decline of the theatrical comedy (submitted by Matthew)

vs.

Big Willie Style: The Lost Art of Movie Tie-In Songs (submitted by Laura Phenomenon)

I love both these topics. The decline of comedy movies released by major studios in the last 15 years is a crazy, tragic development with so much to talk about. And then, tie-in songs. So many iconic 80s soundtracks. Kenny Loggins. Batman Forever. Will Smith. Corporate synergy turned into something wonderful.

I would love to make either one. Vote with your heart.

You made the point a LOT of topics have already been done as great videos & “the death of comedies” have literally been done to death. I don’t want to hear Patrick explain the connection of 9/11 to Judd Apatow.

The economics of silliness is probably a winner for the viewers of channel with an extended plot about a coconut with googly eyes. Given the right thumbnail, song tie ins potentially can bring in fresh viewers (if older). Hmm. Comedy history it is.

Part of me hopes for a co-hosted episode with Todd In the Shadows covering Movie Tie-In Songs, but I fear the lighting will never work out.

I juste have to vote for comedy movies here as it’s really close to the one I submitted "the lost art of parody movie"
