if the game is divided into 2 parts, will I be able to go through part 1, and start 2 with his last save that would leave all the purchased items,and the accumulated money?

At the end of the PartI Hans spends all his money. None of the items of the PartI are useful in the PartII. So, you start PartII without items and money. (You can choose "Easy way" to start the PartII and get 100 imps, however)

Really stupid question, but I clicked the link in the English section, but when it finished downloading it was in Russian(?). Was there a setting I missed because I can't read Cyrillic, or did I somehow click the wrong download link?

I try that and nothing, What version of RenPy do you use so i can get that one?And do you know what could of cause that error?

Nathan, there's no need to look for a special version of RenPy. (But if you really need it you can find all RenPy versions on renpy.org) All you need to run the game is contained in the distribution of the game. When we get an error, the tracelog contains the number of RenPy version from the distribution of the game (6.99.10). I don't know why you got version 7.1.3.1092 (I think you have such Renpy version on your Mac). Looks like the game tries to use your Renpy version instead the version from the game distributive. As I wrote, unfortunately, I can not test the game for Mac and try to find out the reason.

it works in RenPy 6.99.10 but not 7.1.3.1092 and i think its because there is a 3 year difference in them.
