Black Frog Inn (Patreon)
Content
The Black Frog Inn is a scene with a description, illustrations, tokens and a battlemap.
The Black Frog is a an obscur inn in Clear-Hawk, a forest village deep within the land. It is the only location open to public within the area. It is populated by locals, mostly hunters and farmers.
It is a large hatched house in the middle of the village. A large sculpted black painted frog with luminescent red eyes is displayed on top of the entrance door.
The inn is quite vast but dirty and not well maintained. The air is dusty and smoky. The floor is littered with straw and dirt brought by patrons and rarely wiped away.
It is composed of a large lobby and a kitchen in the back. A single sleeping room can be rent but few travelers ever stop here in Clear-Hawk.
Edwin, the innkeeper, is a dirty lazy man, not very talkative. He barks to his wife in the kitchen. He always wears a dirty apron that he uses to "clean" his hands from time to time.
A group of old trappers is gathered at a table at the back of the inn, led by Jon, a master tanner. They seem to whisper to one another. They are back from a hunting trip and they captured a unusual live prey, they seem to argue about what to make of it. They have their horses in the court courtyard barn. The fruits of their hunt are hung on the back of their steeds. The prey is hold in a small cage hidden in a sack. It is a rare bird, a Purple Swift, sacred and protected by law in this country, that worth a fortune. Some trappers want to sell it and some others argue that is a too dangerous business and want to release the bird.
