I’m back from my break, so now you get the official ship introduction ! Mags made Dove and I threw Lock together to follow because I love her sm and I’m greedy, don’t judge me.

“Lock”, a gender-fluid half-fae/half-human who’s miserable working their actual supernatural investigative job and hates being limited by their human side almost as much as he hates being the illegitimate firstborn of some uptight fae royalty.

They love each other so fiercely and loudly, all of their friends avoid the risk of third wheeling at all costs. Lock understands that his love for Dove is probably not healthy, and Dove wishes so deeply that Lock could accept that she CHERISHES their human aspects and life, she doesn’t just tolerate them.

Which is why, when Lock asks for an impossible exchange - for Dove to use her power to make him full fae, no matter the cost - she cannot oblige. Because Lock’s obsession with aging and losing Dove because of their own mortality has become dangerous, and Dove knows such a wish will come with too high of a cost…

And Lock won’t let it go.

And in the midst of trying to avoid a future where Dove outlives Lock and moves on, Lock pushes her away until inevitably, and painfully, they go their separate ways. And it’s not until Lock realizes she is truly gone that they understand what they have done.
