A quick PSA about Lucky!, if we get to bring it back. The goal was met and dropped in two days, which is normal! I just want to prepare for the possibility because I didn’t expect we’d get here so soon 😭

Firstly, Patreon goals in their current form are a rough estimate at best, so I have to wait for us to surpass it for a full week before I can commit to adding a weekly Lucky! page. The goal is to cover compensating my assistant for additional comic work (as it stands, I only have them doing flats, but if we bring Lucky! back in small doses, I’m going to bring them on to help with inks again so I’m not overwhelming myself with THREE COMICs at once lmao)

There are two things to note.

Because I anticipate that this is a goal that MIGHT fluctuate (Lucky! Isn’t a big draw for patrons, objectively, it’s my side project I’ve been trying to bring back in my own time, but I have limits) I will post one page of Lucky! for every week the goal is surpassed, and stick to my usual updates for HD and the 18+ comics weekly no matter what. This should not, under any circumstances, interfere with my current comics, but I also have to be cautious that this doesn’t burn me out. Hence the need for additional art assistance lmao

When Lucky! pages do update, they will be cropped vertical format because this is a line webtoon first! I will upload pages to all tiers, and when there’s enough for a full episode, I will post it to webtoon.

This is my PASSION project, but it’s not my main priority.

I love Lucky! and I will always be grateful for any opportunity to continue it in any form, but Haunting Dagger is my main priority as far as consistent updates go. Lucky! is just for fun!

This also means that I had to make a choice: redo Lucky! so I could I better stories and character art from the very beginning or just start where we left off and keep the old, clunky writing and weird art as a testament to how long I’ve been working on this. I choose the latter. But in choosing that, that does mean that there will be some style differences and potential character design updates, more so for some side characters than most of the main cast. So, if things look a little different when they come back, it’s because my vision for them changed and I wanted to honor that without redoing the entire comic. I will have to include this specific disclaimer on all public episodes when they are released as well, since I’m sure there will be some confusion.

I’ve never had to come back from a significant comic hiatus like this so I feel nervous and excited but I want everyone to rest easy in knowing that I’m not going to sideline any of the comics you came to patreon for, Lucky! is simply a bonus for MEEEEEEE and for the few people who have been waiting on it to come back for the last three years lmao

Needless to say, I can’t make ANY comics without tall, and if I end up having to wait another year to bring back Lucky!, I’ll still be happy making Haunting Dagger and the one shots because doing comics is all I’ve ever wanted to do, I couldn’t be more grateful!
