Mags and I added some developments to the “Make the worst/weirdest dude imaginable and then have him pull an absolute goddess, somehow” game we’ve been playing LMAO

Yall remember Sam and Shelley: Sunburnt lifeguard (human) who’s in love with the tall aquarium tour guide (mermaid)

Well, now you get Sam’s best friend (and also Shelley’s nerdass little brother, but somehow Sam didn’t put two and two together-): MORGAN (also mermaid who gets CRAZY play somehow, Mags says his being 6’6” helps)

And the pretty alt girl in Morgan’s vetmed program who gave the weird tall boy a chance: LAYLA (she’s the newest addition-Morgan’s been here, I just didn’t include him in any Samshell art for. Obvious reasons LMAO)

Morgan and Sam were friends for a while already. They lifeguard together and they’re both on the university swim team. I drew him smiling, but he’s generally bored and uninterested in most things/people, so Sam kinda bulldozed his way into becoming his friend because he’s just not really aware of people being annoyed with him, and Morgan warmed up to him. Morgan drives Sam’s lame ass around to save everyone else in the road LMAO

So, yeah, imagine how Morgan must’ve felt when he found out the girl that Sam (who is infamously BAD at dating) had been seeing was his SISTERRRRR

Anyway, Layla knew Morgan because -everyone- knows Morgan, and eventually they crossed paths (mutual interests - exotic animals/horror movies - and probably saw each other at parties-) and no, she did not know about the mermaid thing but had a TON of questions once he told her probably. Layla is very sweet, but direct and very observant and waits for people to initiate socialization because she likes to assess the crowd before jumping in. Once her and Morgan started talking, she tried for a little while to NOT like him as much as she did because she wasn’t sure how far his interest in her extended but inevitably they agreed to be exclusive because they just can’t leave each other alone?? (They’re cute, y’all, don’t be fooled by Morgan’s nERDASS)*

There’s so much more I can tell you, but I could do this all day if I don’t cut it off somewhere. Like more about the Mermaid lore Mags cooked up, or some of the family dynamics, but I’ll save that for more future art posts because we’re really just having fun with them rn, it’s not serious… yet… lmao jk jk
