Hello guys!

We are pleased to inform you that Shale Hill Secrets - Episode 10 is now available to Gold+ patrons on Windows, macOS and Android.

It seems like we’ve been super quiet, but be assured we were hard at work! As you may have guessed, the ending of the last episode made it extremely difficult for us to provide teasers for this episode, so we decided to keep our cards very close to our chest on this one!

As you are all aware, the MC is in trouble. He'll have to think very quickly to find a way out of the crazy situation he's brought himself into! Do you believe you'll be able to figure something out without anyone getting hurt?

No spoilers here! Yes, there is a lot going on in this episode, as well as a lot of emotion. This includes plenty of action and some playful scenes. And, of course, (a lot of!) love is present in Episode 10. So, don’t waste your time and start playing now!

Game Install Instructions

IMPORTANT: Do not play previous builds (0.1.x, 0.2.x etc). Always play the latest build available (it contains all the episodes). Since we are constantly improving the engine, executing a previous build after you've run a newer one could corrupt your progress.

Itch App

Please consider installing SHS through Itch App instead of downloading it using your browser. Itch App will automatically keep the game up-to-date through smaller patches (as Steam does, for example), which comes handy as the game gets bigger over time.

Try to install the game using the itch app https://itch.io/app instead of downloading it through the browser.

Patreon Authentication

The game requires direct access validation using your Patreon account. Your subscription (gold or more) must be active for the API to recognize it. If you pledged and canceled it right afterwards, the validation process could fail. Please re-enable your pledge (you won't be charged again) and try again.

If your browser doesn’t open when clicking “Login with Patreon to play this episode!”, please check your system default browser settings and make sure your preferred browser is selected.

If the authentication process doesn’t work, please make sure to whitelist Shale Hill Secrets in your antivirus/firewall settings. Also, log out and log in from Patreon in your browser. Whitelisting our domain (https://shalehillsecrets.com/) in your ad blocker/security extension in your browser can also do the trick.

Windows

Download the file below, extract the zipped file to a location of your choice and then run the Shale Hill Secrets executable. The game should open straight away after this. Do not try to run the executable without unzipping it first or you’ll get an error message! Do not mix these files with previous releases! This release contains all the episodes.

macOS

Double click Install Shale Hill Secrets.dmg. Then, in the window that opens, drag and drop the app to the Applications folder.

If the DMG file doesn't open, this means Gatekeeper could have quarantined it. It can be fixed by running this command in Terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine $HOME/Downloads/Install_Shale_Hill_Secrets_v0.10.0.dmg

Android

Note: v0.10.0 has issues with some assets missing. This has been fixed in v0.10.1.

Your device needs to be able to install APKs outside of the Play Store. If it isn't, you need to enable that option first.

After downloading the file, open the APK and select "update". Don't uninstall the previous version or you might lose your progress.

Looking forward to the Android build. Though the last download I had, wiped out my home screens anytime I played the game. A previous version didn't do that though. Hoping this 1 doesn't do the same. Really enjoying the story!

So I had 3 pages of home screens with my apps/widgets all organized how I like. After running the game it removed all home pages and left the single home page blank as if I just got the phone (default apps in the app bar at the bottom). I reset my home pages (as best as I could remember) thinking it was an isolated issue, and when I ran the game again later it reset it again. This is on the v.0.9.4. The early v0.1.2 did not do this. Want to be clear for any who read, that game is great! Runs fine. Just the homepage issue.

This was probably one the better episodes to be let out in awhile however I do have a mild nitpick in that the first scene was forced rather than optional at least for me and that might have been because of prior choices made. Still odd. Also, the last scene seemed less polished than the first two and that's honestly very disappointing considering the build up to it.

Ok, I get why Emily and MC got along in the first place. Fun and cute scene. Otherwise in this episode a lot of cho ices I don't know what to think of. Especially with different profiles. Great chapter for the story, but last scene felt like I was playing it through someone else's phone.

Just letting ya know 10.1 installs on my android tablet but don't run. It flashes then drops back to 'desk top'. Happened last update but you guys condensed it or something to make it work.

Ok, I have downloaded the latest version, but I'm still getting jagged models during animated scenes, but only in this episode. Is there a fix I can make on my end?

We're looking into improving the animations quality for the next build.

I appreciate that, but if I look at the animation, it's not as good as the last episodes. I don't know if you're trying something different, and I get that, but it shouldn't be worse than the episode 2 Emily fun we had. I absolutely would hate to discourage you, but please know it didn't work.

I'm platinium and I finished the 6th chapiter and the 7th dont work as i asek by cliking on the touch and the response was ok .... !!!??? is the 7th chapiter locked for the patinium patron ?

I just played through chapter 10 completely, but i have no chance of getting the last scene with leah for the scene gallery ... anyone got any tips ?

Unfortunately, you need to creep on her in the first episodes, kiss her in the... Sixth? Then there's the scene in the cooper (9?), then this should open up. Basically show your interest. My default profile ended up same as yours.
