Three months have already past since my previous update.

Firstly, the Bugs Bunny & Runner Show Blu-ray is close to finished. Both full episodes of the BBS have been fully cleaned and graded. The RRS episode that was voted on has been graded and is expected to be finished with cleaning in early June. I've just started on the Blu-ray artwork for the cover. Obviously, it is not much to look at right now. I anticipate that I'll open pre-orders in mid-June assuming my current timeline remains intact. Regarding the Buddy set, I have the following 16mms scanned: Viva Buddy, Buddy's Showboat (see above), Buddy and Towser, Buddy the Gee Man, Buddy's Trolly Troubles, Buddy the Woodsman, Buddy's Pony Express, and Buddy the Legion. Typically, I have had 10 cartoons on a standard 25gb disc (I encode at high quality 30mbps). That would leave room for two more cartoons. I have access to the following 7 prints: Buddy in Africa, Buddy's Day Out, Buddy's Beer Garden, Buddy's Bearcats, Buddy's Adventures, Buddy's Theater, and Buddy's Lost World. Leave a comment below on which of those 7 you want added to this set (limit it to your top 3). Once I get those scanned, I can put everything together. It will be just like the Bosko releases, the films will be stabilized, graded, and soundtracks cleaned, but not fully restored. This set is anticipated to be released Aug-Sept this year.

And speaking of Bosko, I have been (slowly) working on the restoration of Talk Ink Kid. Given the historical import of the film, I felt that it deserved a restoration. I also have received two more scans: The Booze Hangs High and Bosko and Honey. The good news about those scans, is that they're direct reductions from 35mm sources. So not only is the picture quality better than the standard 16mm sources... but these have the original opening and closing sequences instead of the Sunset replacement cards. I'm just 10 films shy of the entire series. Volume 3 is anticipated to release around Nov-Dec this year.

Of the 7 remaining, if we are choosing this based on what’s needed the most then there are two obvious choices in Buddy's Lost World & Buddy's Adventures and I’ll explain why below based on what’s currently available. 1. Buddy's Lost World. It’s in horrible quality from a TV rip and would be a huge upgrade 2. Buddy's Adventures. It's in low quality from a TV rip and would be a huge upgrade. 3. Buddy in Africa. Already in HD from TB. Your copy/clean up could be a lot better but I’d do the SD versions first. I think this one is in the worst shape of the HD ones. 4. Buddy's Bearcats Already in HD from TB. Your copy/clean up could be a lot better but I’d do the SD versions first. 5. Buddy's Theater Already in HD from TB. Your copy/clean up could be a lot better but I’d do the SD versions first. 6. Buddy's Day Out. Restored in DVD Quality. Even though it wouldn’t be restored it would be cool to have this in HD on a volume 2. 7. Buddy's Beer Garden. It’s already restored in HD on Blu-ray. You could release it on volume 2 for Buddy. Thank you so much for the update. Can't wait to preorder these!

And the bonus cartoon is mrs and mr is the name (1935) even it is restored it is not 4k

NAAH said 10 could fit on a disc at the bitrate chosen. He listed 8 that would be on the disc and said there was room for 2 more and listed 7 options so I don’t think there’s room for a bonus cartoon but I could be mistaken. As far as Mr. And Mrs. Is the Name goes, it was released on Collectors Choice Volume 3 in 1080p Blu-Ray quality restored which is about as good as we’ll get. The only 3 Looney Tunes shorts in 4K are the downloads NAAH has released in the past. (3 fantastic restorations I might add) If he included that one on the disc it would be in 1080p and unrestored since he mentioned they all would be unrestored so the official one would look better.

But to bad if this is on 4k but the buddy blu ray Will be amazing!

Wall Camillo Montoni

So I was thinking about the beans blu ray release because NAAH has lots of scans of the beans the cat cartoons

Not An Animation Historian

Are you thinking of Felix? I don't I have any beans. I think most of which have been restored anyway

Wall Camillo Montoni

Is because NAAH has a 16mm of the cartoon Boom Boom (1936) so I was thinking he might it to the beans the cat blu ray

Wall Camillo Montoni

It will be a great ideia if you make the beans the cat blu ray

1. Buddy's Bearcats. 2. Buddy in Africa 3. Buddy's Adventures

Out of the 10 Beans Shorts, only 2 aren't restored, Westward Whoa & Boom Boom which where on Porky Pig 101 so it's in decent quality, not terrible. 2 others were restored in SD on DVD with A Cartoonists' Nightmare & Gold Diggers of '49. The other 6 are already restored in HD with 5 of them being from Max & one of them The Phantom Ship being available on Blu-ray. I would imagine the next steps after BBS, Buddy & Bosko Blu-rays get released this year is to do Volume 1 of Censored 11 in 2026 with a potential volume 4 of Bosko & volume 2 of Buddy. I believe the priority is to release shorts that are stuck in SD on HD for the first time (The Bosko & Buddy volumes are super helpful to this effort) & restore the cartoons that Warner isn't going to do on the Collector's Vault series.

My votes are: Buddy's Adventures, Buddy's Lost World, and Buddy's Bearcats

Buddy in Africa, Buddy's Adventures, and Buddy's Lost World.

So that’s a great ideia to be in 1080p and the scan Will be a 35mm nitrate print and it will the bonus cartoon on the buddy blu ray do you like my idea?

Definitely "Buddy's Adventures" the only copies I've ever seen of that are terrible transfers from some old broadcast tapes. I'd say that's an easy choice to include. Even just an unrestored filmscan would be a huge upgrade for most collectors. I think I agree with others here on "Lost World" and "in Africa" as well. Regardless, this will certainly be a "Day 1" pre-order for me as well. Thanks for all you do!
