Excited to share this rare 16mm kinescope negative scan from Episode 26 of Bob Clampett's 'Willy the Wolf,' the 1953 adult puppet variety show produced by Bob Clampett. It debuted in 1953 on KTTV in LA. This was during the 'pre-tape era,' so these shows were recorded on kinescope for syndication and archival purposes. However, I don't believe that this show was ever syndicated. This was apart of a recent batch of Time with Beany 35mm negatives that were recently scanned. The white artifact you see on the film is the emulsion separating from the film base. There's a small possibility of getting a few more episodes from this show scanned, but their condition is worse than this, so fingers crossed.Despite the show being in the public domain, the music featured, even the 10 second Dragnet theme is still under copyright, preventing the full episode being put on YouTube. However, as a supporter, you have access to the full episode.

I just NEVER thought I'd get to see a full episode of this, thanks so much! It makes me almost think there's a chance, however slight, that I might even someday get to see Clampett's Buffalo Billy and Flyboy! The condition on this stuff is unfortunate, sure, but in no way a barrier to my enjoyment! I really thought this was all going to be completely lost to history. Amazing!
