Hey folks!
Here's a milestone post from me, showcasing some of the art that would have gone into my third Danger Girl comic. As you can tell, it'd have been one helluva Arabian Nights harem! 😋
You can find my first two DG comics in my Collections - Full Comics.
It's been exactly ten years since I started doing smut. Initially, it was just commissioning fanart that'd go into comics I was amateurishly writing. There was no thought put into these beyond just needing to scratch my own itch about sexy comic chicks that I grew up with. Danger Girl was just top of the pile for a kid who grew up in the 80s/90s.
Although I got to work with some really awesome 2D artists like Studio Pirrate and Ambrosiis, the process of making 2D comics was both cumbersome and expensive. It was pure chance that made me try out DAZ Studio and totally noob-out on 3D art. It's crazy to think of myself as any kind of "artist" - I cold started pretty late in life with no creative background.
But damn I got good at it. Won a couple of competitions too.
As mentioned, I had intended to do a third Danger Girl comic - but things changed. My artist buds were moving onto other things and it'd been hard to lock them into a massive project.
Additionally, I found myself unable to get into the headspace to write 2D storyboards for the artists to work off. Doing 3D art changes how you approach the artistic process. You don't think in panels anymore, but frames. You can already see this change happening in the later half of Savage Rules. It was so hard to finish that off when I had my feet in both ponds.
Anyways, so this is both a celebration and a requiem. I didn't think ten years ago that commissioning goon fanart would lead to such a fate as mine - becoming a smut peddler extraordinaire! Lady Luck smiles on us all sometimes.
But that also meant that I had to give up on certain projects that just outgrew. Hence this post. There will be no more Danger Girl. 😞
That being said, I am excited to seeing what else I can come up with moving forward. I've put out a lot of solo comics these past few years that have been surprising hits. I'll be keeping this up for as long as it interests me, and my interest has only grown over time. So here's to the future!
Thank you all for your support these many years. I hope you're enjoying what I'm conjuring out of my outdated and diseased millennial brain, and doing Rule 34 on 34 year old games and girls! 😜
Cheers, folks!
