Hello.. dear my supporters.

Are you all doing well and healthy?

It's "Qiuhua (Girls Frontline 2)" work.

Sorry for the late upload.

This piece shouldn't have taken this long to complete, but it just didn't turn out well.

I need to let go of my habit of obsessing over perfection and detail, but I'm having trouble controlling it.

I've also started to question my art style.

I've started to question whether drawing anime, manga style characters with my painting style is the right approach.

It's hard to put a simple answer to this question.

It was a complex mix of issues. Haha... It's so difficult, my head's spinning.

For now, I think I'll try drawing a character with a "nose". Haha...

And the art style I've been sticking to seems wrong. It's so complicated. Haha...

I don't know the answer. Haha... Sorry.

To further my research on art style, I'll need to quickly draw more works with simpler compositions.

So, I'd like some recommendations for characters to practice drawing.

If you have a character request, please leave a comment (only one).

ex)Cynthia(Pokemon)

Thank you. Have a nice day.

I felt something break inside me while working on my recent piece. I suddenly thought, “Is it wrong to draw anime-style characters in my painting style?” I started by drawing Pokémon characters, and since then I’ve been trying to make anime/manga-style faces look natural in my art style. I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error. But this time, it felt like something was off. I felt like I was trying to paint with detail and density, while anime-style faces require exaggerated and omitted deformation, which felt contradictory. I kept trying to overcome this problem, but every time it was difficult and I had to struggle a lot. It’s really hard to explain with words, because it’s such a complicated issue. I had a lot of thoughts in my head, but I don't know how to organize, explain, or express them. I've already written down my various thoughts in Windows Notepad and asked GPT to organize them, but that alone doesn't seem to convey anything. I feel like I need to change my approach to developing my art style. Maybe I need to give up certain things—either reduce the detail or start using line art. Or just don't draw characters without noses. Haha.. Every time I draw an anime-style face, the process is so painful that it's impossible to draw fan art casually. And one of the things that comes to mind whenever I draw these anime/manga-style faces is, "Is this really drawn in my art style?" There are many times when I feel like I'm not drawing faces in my art style. II think it's ultimately my lack of talent. Haha... I'm angry that they didn't give me the talent. Haha...

Hell yeah qiuhia. If you feel like it please do a version of her in her extra outfit, I like the nurse variant but the cowprint might be fun https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlsFrontline2/comments/1lrel3d/qiuhua_new_outfit_preview_with_variants/ I think you should try drawing the face from different angles and not straight on like this post, maybe try the frieren angles that's going through Twitter. I felt like this vid helped me understand the angles conceptually though I haven't drawn anything https://youtu.be/WS_j4ifbd5w?si=w9MrLDJvd_rd5YaD Your style is definitely more realistic than anime and I really like the overall effect. I don't know any guides on a midway point between anime and realistic right now, especially focusing on noses, but I'm sure some exist you can look up and decide where you want to go.

Monica (Dark Cloud 2). think you will enjoy her panther set.

Maybe you can try drawing girls from Dead or Alive, fella. They are "with noses", have 3D models, and, at the same time, have a certain look that gives off anime vibes to an extent.

I appreciate and admire your artstyle of the characters you draw for anime/manga or characters in general. Personally, it's "unique." If you do have to change something, I believe it'll still come out great.

I've often thought about your detailed art style and about how perhaps the anime aesthetic, especially faces, might bet too simple for you. So I don't find it too confusing myself. To me this just means a more "comic book" art style than manga (noses) and I can think of a good handful of people who are very good at it, so I think it's a style that can work. I would be interested to see you try it out. Additionally, I would say, don't be afraid to post a "failure," although you say all the time, "this didn't turn out well," we all still appreciate seeing it. Now the real question is are you going to do characters that already had a nose or are you going to do characters without (anime) but with noses? 🤔 Here's a request that could go either way: Regina (Dino Crisis)

It's not easy because I don't know the right answer. Haha...😅 I wonder if I just need to go up one more level, or if I'm going down the wrong path from the beginning... Haha...😥 I'll have to try different things... Thank you! I'll do my best.(✿◡‿◡)

There are so many complex issues at play here, I don't know where to start. Haha... My work habits, my work method, my coloring style, popular styles, etc.🤢🤢 I'm starting to wonder if I should have focused on LOL or 3D characters instead of drawing anime-style characters.😞😪 For now, I need to let go of my old method and experiment a bit. Haha... Thank you. I'll do my best.(✿◡‿◡)

I recently drew Kasumi. Haha…🤤 It didn’t get much attention, so I was a bit shocked. Haha.🤢🤢 I want to draw DOA characters more often, but I rarely get the chance. Maybe if I worked faster or didn’t have such a bad obsession with my process, I could draw a lot more… Haha. It’s a bit sad. It’s a headache… But now that I don’t feel pressured about making content sets anymore, I think I will draw more on practice and experimenting.😪 Thank you.(✿◡‿◡)

There are techniques commonly used to draw anime-style 2.5D art, but I tried to solve the problem in my own way instead of using them. But the more I drew, the more I realized I couldn't help but draw like everyone else. So my work felt somewhat uneven. It wasn't 3D, nor anime style. In this day and age, specializing in one thing is insufficient, but I felt like I couldn't fit into any style. So I felt like I was going down the wrong path. At the same time, I also felt like if I just took this one step further, I might realize something or overcome something. I don't know what to do. Haha. There are two or three methods worth trying, but I need to experiment. Haha. I really feel like I'm lacking in many things. Haha...😓😥 Anyway, I'll do my best. Thank you!(✿◡‿◡)
