The young blind woman just snorted and said

Jon just snorted and answered

"A long time ago I learned not to judge the value of a person by what he carries between his legs, you are a talented earth bender, the duel with your father was incredible," said the White Wolf

"Come here, Appa!" he screamed, while the bison ignored him completely

"I'll take care of refilling the water reserves and cooking dinner," said the young southern woman

Jon nodded and said

"I'll be in charge of hunting a couple of animals and collecting berries for Aang, I saw a small town down the river, I'll do some shopping," Jon said

Aang got excited and spoke

“Perfect! I...”  however, Toph grabbed him by the neck and sat him down with a firm pull

"You, my hyperactive and elusive friend, will stay with me, here, we will have our first earth bending lesson, while Jon and Katara prepare everything," said the beautiful young woman firmly

Aang and Katara laughed at Jon's joke

“My fiancé is too soft on you, he considers you a younger brother, however, I am a demanding teacher, understood?” Toph said forcefully, immersed in her role as Earth teacher

"I'm leaving" Katara said, while imitating Jon, sliding, but upstream, looking for some streams where she could fish, Jon had talked to her, Aang's training would be hard and it would be better if he wasn't there to see him

"As terrible as I predicted?" he asked

The earth ender sighed and said

"Worse, he is a noble soul, an air bender prodigy, it is almost impossible for him to change his way of thinking," said the beautiful young woman, taking the apple, that Jon offered her and taking a bite

"Let me talk to him," Jon said, Toph nodded and lifted a rock to take a break and finish her fruit

Jon smiled and replied calmly

"Spiritual gifts have many uses," Jon said, before looking at Aang firmly and asking

"You faced the rock, unlike me, you didn't run away from it," Aang said

Jon nodded with a smile and taking Aang by the shoulders, placed him in front of him

The young monk concentrated, remembering Jon's words, and with a firm cry, intercepted the rock, tearing it apart completely and sending all the remaining pieces flying around

Sokka and Katara celebrated at the feat, assuming that Aang had earth bended, while Toph and Jon smiled proudly

"Better, you faced the rock, and, for an instant, you made earth bending, to stop it," Toph said with a proud smile

At those words, Sokka and Katara looked at her in surprise

“What? But he tore the rock to pieces, that was earth bending" Sokka said in disbelief

"It wasn't, it was something much more complicated, it was the adaptation of my technique, to the air bending" Jon said simply looking at Aang with pride, to the embarrassment of the young monk

Under the curious gaze of Sokka and Katara, Jon continued

"Aang used earth bending to stop the rock, however, he used air bending concentrated, in a single point, to breaks the rock's will, tearing it apart, an air bending attack technique," Jon said looking at Aang approvingly

"Indeed," said Toph, walking elegantly

"Although I recommend not using that technique on a person, or you would make it pure, literally," Toph said

At those words, Aang couldn't help but shudder

"But cheer up, it's a great start, you stopped a rock at high speed, you have what it takes, but from now on we will train every day, I will make you the second-best earth bender in the world, even if I have to break you and arm you from scratch" Toph said with smugness and emotion in his voice

"That can be for later, it's time for dinner" Katara said in that characteristic maternal tone of hers

"Perfect, I'm starving," Jon said, as he walked towards the elegant house Toph had built, where the smell of Katara's incredible food flooded the walls

"It smells delicious," Toph said, taking a seat on one side of Jon, while Katara did the same with the other side

Aang watched that Katara served Jon first, who thanked her politely, while also speaking again

"In the village they were quite kind, they gave me a name, Professor Zei, who talks about a mysterious library lost in the Si Wong desert" Jon said with a smile

“EXCELLENT! It's a great clue," Aang said excitedly

Jon nodded and continued

"We're a couple of days away from the desert, they mentioned the Misty Palms Oasis, that's our next destination, we'll visit the town again to take plenty of supplies and then we'll go to the desert," Jon said with determination

Everyone nodded, the plan was pretty clear

None were prepared for the surprises and revelations they would find in the elusive library

However, Jon's response was not as expected

"My wife and daughter," he said seriously, before laughing softly at Toph's face

"My wife, Yue, sacrificed herself at the North Pole, to restore spiritual balance, after a demented fire bender murdered Lady La, we won the battle, but my wife and daughter left this world," Jon said, his voice with acceptance, but still pain

Toph just took Jon's arm and spoke

"I'm sorry you had to accept me as a fiancée to train Aang, it's obvious that you love her very much" Toph said with a little jealousy, but understanding the situation completely

Jon just smiled and stroked Toph's hand calmly

"It's not your fault, and don't feel bad about it, even though they're not physically present, they always take care of me, every night I take a moment to be with them, and tell them about my days and how Aang and the brats will give me gray hair in a few years," Jon said with amusement, causing Toph to laugh under his breath.  understanding perfectly what he was referring to
