OCTOBER UPDATE! (Patreon)

Howdy, all!

Firstly I want to give a big warm welcome to all the new patrons who joined last month and a HUGE thank you to everyone for helping reach another milestone already! WHAT. EVEN.

Secondly, Fall tends to be incredibly busy, so while I tried to keep this update short, I also wanted to keep you in the loop of all Doodle for Food related happenings. Solution: A bunch of mini updates in one! So in this post I’ll be covering:

MILESTONE UPDATES

Mini-Print Update - As of this morning the vast majority of mini-prints have been signed and packaged for drop off later today. I have a few more addresses I need to add, but the remaining prints should be shipped off tomorrow. The final count is somewhere between 120-150 prints, so it was quite an undertaking to package all of them in a day. If you have any questions about the prints, please feel free to message me!

Scary Game Milestone - While running the mini-print special offer, we reached the “Megan Plays a Scary Game” milestone! That means at some point during the month of October, I’ll play a game of YOUR choosing.

So here’s what happens next:

Please submit game suggestions by this Monday, Oct 12

I’ll put together a poll containing the top 3-5 choices

Patrons will vote and decide the final game by Friday, Oct 16

I attempt to play said game and probably scream a lot

I’ll be hosting several stream nights for whichever game is selected along with a few other backup spooky-esque games. The Spooky Game Streams are scheduled for:

New Milestone Revealed - And of course, since we reached the latest milestone, it’s time to reveal another! In fact, we’re already almost halfway to it! The next Patreon milestone will be:

A Dog DnD podcast mini-series!

Once we reach this goal, I’ll gather some pals and play a one-off game of DnD with dog characters! The game will be recorded and released as exclusive podcast episodes here on Patreon.

I’ll also stat out the entire Good Boye Guild cast as playable characters for anyone who’s interested to play or use as reference!

PATRON PERKS UPDATE

I updated the tier perk descriptions to include info about the Discord server along with the following larger changes for certain tiers:

Foodie Family ($5) tier - The tier description now includes desktop wallpapers and coloring pages as perks. While I’ll still post bonus fan art, it won’t be on a consistent schedule. Thus, I replaced fan art with the downloadable content. Patrons at this tier will receive at least one wallpaper and coloring page per month. The likelihood of multiple wallpapers and pages is pretty good.

Foodie ‘Family’ ($10) tier - I’ll be rotating the monthly livedraw perk with a new perk: small merch bundles. Meaning one month I’ll host a livedraw, and the following month I’ll ship small merch like stickers or mini-prints to patrons in this tier. This includes exclusive, limited, or upcoming merch designs. I’ve been curious how well physical merch tiers would work on my Patreon, so this new perk is a trial run to gauge interest. October will be the first merch bundle month, with the next livedraw happening in November.

DISCORD SERVER UPDATE

Public Launch Info - A lot of my focus went into the discord server last month, and it’s been really fun meeting and getting to know a bunch of you. Thanks to the help and effort of the amazing mod team, I’ve been adjusting and adding to the server to improve it. These changes are still ongoing your suggestions and feedback are very much appreciated!

As of now, the server is scheduled to go public this upcoming Monday, October 12. We’ll have a few fun things planned on the server for that day, so feel free to drop by and join in the festivities!

Server Emotes - There are currently 100 emote spots to fill on the server. In an attempt to fill up spaces in a timely manner, I’m participating in what I’m calling Emotetober. The goal of Emoteober is to create 31 emotes and add them to the server. I’ve already made a few news ones, so be sure to keep checking the server for those emotes to drop!

Another Note - Patreon will continue to be the place where I post patron perks, new art, and important updates regarding projects. I will continue to use Discord and Twitter to post WIP art pieces and minor updates (like rescheduling streams). Patron perk content will always be posted on my Patreon page, so people who don’t use Discord won’t be missing out on perks they’ve paid for.

STORE UPDATES

Halloween Merch Launch - Last week I launched an update with a couple of new prints and some new stickers. The Halloween sticker set is glow-in-the-dark and limited run, meaning unless there’s insane demand, I won’t reprint after the first batch sells out.

Good Boye Guild Merch - I recently shared the design of a new Good Boye Guild shirt, but decided to hold off on posting the design in the shop until after I’ve received a test shirt that I can check for quality. I know a lot of people are excited for some Good Boye Guild merch, but I want to be sure everything meets standards before selling it.

I’m aiming to have another mini drop of Good Boye Guild designs in early November for the holiday season. That will also be when I open pre-orders for the first set of GBG enamel pins: The magic and music set.

I’m finishing up the designs this month, so stay tuned to see how they turn out!

PROJECT/MISC. UPDATES

Graphic Novel - This was something I started very early in the year but had to slow down on because it’s hard to be inspired when…*gestures vaguely at 2020*. Anyway, I’m finally making some significant progress, and my personal goal is to have a pitch completed and shopped around by the end of the year. I’m so excited to be staying with my agent Alice and her new company, ASH Literary. Alice has been absolutely lovely and kind during this intense year, and I have complete faith in working with her. I’ll keep you updated of any major developments, and in the meantime please keep your fingers crossed for some good news soon!

Streaming - Earlier this year I decided to maintain a regular streaming schedule on my Twitch channel. The schedule is still going through some minor adjustments while I figure out what works best with all of my other work responsibilities. The latest update being that I’m sticking to Tuesday and Wednesday morning streams, but my third stream of the week will have to be flexible on the day and time for a while. The two most likely days for the stream would be either Sunday or Monday. Again, as soon as I find something that works, I’ll let you guys know.

Additionally, there’s a good chance that I’ll be hosting private streams through discord due to various other projects. Once I get a clear idea of what needs to get done, I may make an update about extra patron-only streams.
