Weekly Recap: Kickstarter Update + Art Share (Patreon)

Howdy Patrons!

Wanted to pop in with another update to let you know about the stuff I worked on this week.

KICKSTARTER UPDATE

The majority of my time and focus was spent on prepping the enamel pin Kickstarter, so it was a slow week for art (particularly comics). I finished ahead of schedule, so the campaign is now in the review process and I’m able to share more info and images with you.

ICYMI, next Friday, April 2, I’m launching a Kickstarter campaign to produce enamel pins for the five main Good Boye Guild characters!

The pin specs are as follows:

Hard enamel

1.75in. / 45mm

Made with shiny black nickel metal

2 rubber clutches

Kickstarter-exclusive reduced price

Designs for the main guild members

This is my first crowdfunding project, so I’m keeping the campaign simple and the funding goal as small as possible starting out. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing crowdfunding platform, so I wanted to avoid setting a higher financial goal and risk falling short. Worry not! The remaining character class designs will be made available as stretch goals after reaching the initial funding goal.

As a side note, I’ve been asked if I’m going to make stickers of the other classes. The answer is: yes, but only after I make the pins! Some work plans changed suddenly and projects had to be shuffled around, so I need to focus on producing pins first. This Kickstarter will determine how I approach product launches for the rest of this year and in the future, because it’s also testing the viability of larger-scale merch projects.

OTHER STUFF

When I wasn’t working on the pin project, I worked on some simple and fun WIPs. I finished up some truly beautiful and cursed emotes for the Discord server:

I’m excited about these because I’ll also be using them as part of a sticker pack I’m releasing on Whatsapp later this year! Soon people will be able to spread this blursed energy everywhere.

I also worked on redrawing a Good Boye Guild shirt/print design. If you remember from a few months ago, I made the below illustration:

However, I wasn’t 100% in love with how it looked on apparel, so I decided to scrap the design and try again. Below is a picture of the new illustration so far:

I’m still messing around with color options, but overall I’m much happier with this composition! I’ll be selling this as a print to start, then later in the year making a small run of shirts with the design.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I have more things I’d like to discuss as updates, but I’m really challenging myself to keep from dumping tons of info like I normally do and sticking to more immediate news. For now, all I want to say is thank you all so much for your patience and support! I’m working really hard to live up to the trust you’ve placed in me and my creative work.
