There’s something… strangely cozy about those first three panels. Waking up, still half-asleep, dimly aware that someone is talking to you, but unable to really process what they are saying. You’re hanging in the air, suspended in the arms of someone warm, someone you trust. You hear the “click-clack” of keys in a lock and a door swinging open. Time blurs, and the next thing you know, you’re wrapped up in blankets in a soft warm bed, already falling back asleep. Reminds me of being taken home by my parents ans an child after a long car trip at night. I have strong positive associations with the sound of the engine of my dad’s car undergoing its shutdown sequence. I know all the clicks and whirs by heart, because to me, those noises mean home.

I can’t explain it, but Indy drops the vibe that he’s the type of boyfriend that every once in a while, will just gasp and stare at you wide and say “I think we might be gay!” while you roll your eyes at hearing the same joke still 9 years into your relationship.
