This was a fun episode. Definitely one of my top faves. No epic fight scenes. Just a chill Fujimoto segment. Btw what did Sherm say about when ticks bite people? (10:35) My hearing has been ass lately lol.

It's actually pretty interesting how frequently gender dysphoria comes up in Fujimoto's work. It's not talked about nearly as much in Japan as it is in the west, yet this short covers it pretty well and then he also wrote a FANTASTIC trans character in Fire Punch. That character is Fire Punch is not only one of the best in the entire manga itself but is also one of the very best interpretations of a trans person you'll find in any media. It's just so odd to me that the deranged man behind the insanity of Chainsawman and Fire Punch also has such sincerely written LGBTQ characters, spends a lot of his stories playing with gender roles, frequently tackles topics of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, and then can also write some genuinely emotional stories like Goodbye Eri and Look Back. Sure he got popular for the batshit insanity he's willing to do in his stories, but at the core he is an unbelievably competent author with some good messages.
