Super Gestuga (Sakura)

If your end reacting to the rest of umamusume pretty derby seasons 2 and 3 alongside the OVAs are really good

ANDROID

6:58 (hears sirens) Definitely L.A. 🇺🇸

Fun fact about Toni, the real horse did in fact break his leg during this race and was actually sold to a Japanese owner afterwards, which the show labeled that as her "retirement in Japan". He would later go on to father quite a few notable Japanese race horses including Jungle Pocket, the main character of the INCREDIBLE Beginning of a New Era movie.

Nice!! Thanks for the fun facts fam 😁

Also, 100% seconding the recommendation for the OVA and movie. Road to the Top and Beginning of a New Era are absolutely incredible, especially the later. Some of the best content in the entire franchise. Both can be watch independently of the main show and are pretty short, being under 2 hours each.

I know seiyū's got range but the difference in the two voices of Obey Your Master is crazy! If I did not see it in front of me i would have thought that was two different characters entirely!😲 I like that Taylor mentioned all those amazing athletes and how they all lost at some point in their careers...more than others, but still that losing is not always the most terrible thing in the world and that you always get a chance to redeem yourselves...except during the playoffs, then your fucked if you lose😏.

Also skip EP13 of S1 for pretty derby. It contains massive spoils for S2

THE JAPAN CUP HAS CONCLUDED! Ngl this was one of the most hype races in the show by far. Here are some factoids as usual: 1. This race was the 1988 Japan Cup. And yes there is footage out there on YT with subs. And also yes, it plays out the same as in the anime. 2. As stated in another comment, Toni did retire in Japan and became a breeding stud. Aside from Jungle Pocket (The MC of the movie) being an offspring, other characters in the anime and game which came from Toni are Air Groove and Winning Ticket. 3. The american race course depicted in Obey's flash back is said to be the Santa Anita Race course in Cali.
