Alcides is the birth name of Heracles (Hercules), this is basically a corrupted version of him made into an Avenger. It’s his humanity and not his divinity taking the majority. Also, this is your first time seeing a non-Berserker Heracles and it’s definitely worth pointing out that the Berseker-class version of him is EASILY his weakest. Which says a lot when you see what he does in Heaven’s Feel. This is that same man with his sanity intact, his original role as an Archer, AND the buff of being an Avenger. As for the other reveals here we get yet another historical rivalry. Hippolyta was the Queen of the Amazons and, more importantly, was in love with Heracles. He had been sent to take a belt gifted to her by her father Ares, but she had actually planned to peacefully hand it over to him. Unfortunately the myth didn’t allow for that happy ending and he killed her, taking the belt by force for his Ninth Labor. So these two join Enkidu and Gilgamesh as being another historical rivalry in the same war. Finally, Richard the Lionheart. He was an English king who most famously lead the Third Crusade and fought against the brilliant Saladin (not from Destiny, don’t worry). In some situations he is tied to Arthurian legends and, more frequently, is often tied to Robin Hood. Most relevant to Fate lore is that Richard is considered the last English king to have been part of myth, he’s basically the point where all the Arthurian stories of fairies, runes, and magical swords stop and kings just become historical figures.

Heracles as an Archer is a huge problem. Remember how strong he was as a berserker? Well that was one of his worst classes, because he doesn’t have all of his techniques. And that guy was still super skilled even without his mind. If you remember how Shirou killed Heracles in the Heavens feel movie, that was him copying a fraction of Heracle’s skill. And it let him instantly kill Heracles 9 times. If you don’t remember you can look up nine lives blade works on YouTube. This version of him actually has his mind.

I’m going to just send the most simplified explanation, it’s pretty much confirmed she was the one to give the blueprints to the holy grail to the Matou family, who then eventually formed the Fuyuki grail system and the Heaven’s Feel ritual knowing well about what would result thanks to the Einzbern folly. She would be forced to flee thanks to Touka from the Fifth Grail War. Her reasons I will avoid to say since that is definitely spoilers.

Oh yeah. A bit of extra lore on “Heracles” the name itself. So basically after being born his mother realized, “oh wait Zeus is married to Hera, and she hates most of his bastard children,” and that maybe that does not help her son’s chances of living. So she renamed Alcides to Heracles which means Glory to Hera. Hence the Hera-cles. That’s why him rejecting the name Heracles and using his original human name is so important. Also cause Hera kept trying to ruin his life or kill him despite that. This is more general Greek mythology lore than just fate lore, so it’s not exclusive to Fate. Fun fact, in the Disney version of Hercules he gets together with the girl named Megara. But in mythology Megara is Heracles’s first wife who he kills when Hera drives him insane. So I always like to say that if Disney make a sequel to Hercules, they are gonna have a hard time explaining why Megara is suddenly gone. (Not that they were following his story other than superficially in the first place.) Ever since 5th grade I was really into Greek mythology, I even took courses on mythology back in college.
