So if you thought we already had some shenanigans with insane summons, add two more unusual ones into the list. Watcher, which isn't even a formal class, and a Servant that is a past life of the Master. This grail war is literally just EVERYTHING going wrong and breaking every rule. Watcher is especially crazy, as it's not even an Extra class. It's a one off existence outside the entire class system and it's sole purpose is to make its Master become the True Lancer in this war. Btw, Scar Red is 100% Touko from the Garden of Sinners movies. She repeatedly killed Prelati over and over again to stop her from interfering in the previous Grail Wars. It was a little hard to tell because they only showed her back and she wasn't in her more iconic long trench coat.

Fate is an incredibly dense franchise, but it's so rewarding when you start picking up little details from other series that you watched before. It's never SO dense that a complete newcomer can't get the gist of things, but the more you're willing to invest into it the more it rewards you with fun little details. You never have to dive into the details of how magecraft works or the backstory of every hero, but it's there if you want to learn it and get invested. I like that. Except the moon. Fuck the moon. No one needs to learn about the moon. God damn vampires, mega cities, forests, and alien supercomputers.

Watcher's master is one of my favorite characters in the novels so happy to finally see my boy animated and voiced. You guys pretty much understood everything important tbh. There was really only one minor reference that you guys didn't get that could even be considered relevant. It being the "mud" in the Heracles scene, is the same thing that Altered Saber (edgy Saber) in Heavens feel. "Dragging down" the Third Magic down to magecraft is also important as it explains the U.S government's/Prelati's goals. But thats a pretty deep cut/rabbit hole tbh.

If you remember from Unlimited Blade Works, Gilgamesh tells Shirou that the true nature of humans is essentially malevolence, and that’s when we see a bunch of lights flying into the opening of the holy grail which is pouring out the cursed mud. So I think that has to do with when the guy forced Heracles to accept the true nature of humans.

Just wondering the general consensus, of the Fate Knowers. Do you think it’s generally alright to look up the real versions of people after they introduce themselves in fate?

I will give a hint. Since it’s something you technically should know but may have forgotten. Prelati knew the Caster in the 4th grail war, he mentions Prelati.

Okay. Cool. I guess it makes sense, even in universe, once you learn a servants name, the best move is to just look them up and see their weaknesses. It’s good practice for the viewer too I guess. Fate: Teaching you history one Waifu at a time.

Man, I watched the fate series a couple times, started reading Fate Strange/fake a few years ago, and only then on my next rewatch of fate zero did I notice Prelati’s name drop. There’s so much Fate lore that even the biggest fans will miss. That’s prolly why I like it though. I can always come back and find something new.

I felt like it was a bit hard to forget. Considering that Prelati is the guy who got Caster into summoning Eldritch tentacle monsters via child sacrifice. Though I am a major fate fan. I just want Emiya to show up in more series. That’s why I keep watching more, for my hope and my cope.

this a long shot but maybe they somehow got some of a past lancers dna and made clones and he is the only one that survive but since he didn't have powers they used him as a child soldier. and when you use a summon circle it's best to use something that would resonate with matching spirit and get the spirit you want. instead if you dont you are taking a wild chance at who will be summoned. so maybe this kid has some lancer dna and that somehow messed up the fake holy grail summoning and glitched with the real holy grail. kind of like hoe shirou was shiro but also archer
