it really is hard to know who is the real "bad guys". it seem asuma is the most trustworthy because all he pretty much wants is to kill his uncle for treating his mom like shit and using the family name to do his illegal shit. he has no goal of using the twins, as far as we know currently. the japanese have this belief from shinto that everything has a soul/spirit. also some item can gain a soul/spirit after 100 years (i.e) those little sumo deamons that just play sumo are 100 years at least. it is why shingo has fujin and raijin 2 concepts of nature would have deamons.
