I gotta say, take away the reincarnation, multiple fantasy races, and magic, and this is the closest rendition of medieval times I've seen in an anime. Including ep 8. People get stupid with this shit. I saw one comment (on facebook) where they were trying to compare the medieval sex scenes of Paul and his wife and the typical Nobel shit in ep 8 to the horrifying rape scenes in happy sugar life. The controversy is a 40yr old is lusting on kids rudy's age (at whatever age he is because they're either a little older or his same age) . But ultimately all that means is he has his memories from a past life. He's still a kid, not some old man disguised as a kid, then turns back. He's subjected to his physical body's crap. Weak muscles, fast learning and, even tho they never say it, probably the libido. I just think people are looking too deep into it because of the wonder years narrator. Are these same people whining about saying it should be a 40 yr old woman that's into 7yr+ Rudy?

For the Paul and Lilia rape thing, it's a bit complicated. It's explained more in detail in the novel but basically when they were younger they trained together, Lilia had a crush on Paul. Paul knew this and took advantage of it by groping her, and eventually straight up broke into her room and pushed himself on her until she eventually "let him" have his way with her. She has conflicted feelings about it because she didn't want to have sex with Paul and he did kinda force her, but she also had feelings for him anyway. Which is why she follows him and starts working for him as a maid. Paul is just trash all around lol

He's still different and will obviously be attracted to kids his own age. Now if the anime progresses and he's like 18 attracted to 10 year olds then that's a problem
