Lol it's not a censored version. Its just that it just started so it's rough around the edges. The animation, art, violence, comedy, drama and everything just gets better and better. It just starts off testing boundaries.

I love this anime so much! Also, one of Kagura's main tropes in the anime is that she speaks Japanese like a foreigner. So during the trash can scene, when Kagura was dissing Shinpachi, she suddenly spoke Japanese in a native accent, hence the joke that the only moment she spoke "proper" Japanese was when she was insulting Shinpachi. I haven't watched this in awhile, but I'm pretty sure there will be more jokes relating to her accent and the way she speaks, so its just a heads up :)

On another note, if anyone reading this comment wants to know more about Kagura/the reason for her design and accent, there's a good video from That Japanese Man Yuta called "Kagura's "Weird" Japanese Explained". TLDR: it's something of a stereotype about how Chinese people spoke Japanese during the Edo Period.

that gorilla is the mangaka of gintama. his name is hideaki sorachi. gintama fans call him gorilla sensei, and will appear sometimes in the anime.

I forgot how these first few episodes were. lmao. it'll just get crazier from here. Also, I wouldn't say tamago kake gohan (raw egg on rice) is exclusively a struggle food, I think it's considered a snack.....a cheap snack, lol. I've seen Japanese tv shows where the rice is luxury rice that's like $20 per pound and the egg is a super expensive quail egg or rare chicken egg.
