The Tokyo Federation of the Deaf supervises the sign language used, so yes, it is real sign language, which i find awesome since i dont think many shows are superfised like that

The entire point of Hilling's character is that she's overprotective. You're missing how she's never really changed. Being a protective parent doesn't necessarily fulfil children's wishes, but it's her instinct to keep Bojji away from danger. Seeing Bojji struggle to handle a sword confirmed Hilling's beliefs. Can't go shallow on these character insights. There's no way a caring mom in the medieval ages would support their deaf and powerless son to be a puppet on the throne. The only ones who do tend to be power hungry.

Idk man, I don't think they were really wrong. I mean yeah, it was bullshiit after what the King himself decided, but at the same time it really is facts that Bojji wasn't in good shape to be a King.
