For the attorney scene, I know that banks and other financial institutions will call you or send something in the mail if there's something weird in your transactions like a large sudden withdrawal. I guess since this is the attorney that worked on Asa's mom's life insurance policy they go a step further.

As for the reason the grandma didn't take Asa in, I believe in ep 1 she was one of the relative talking about how she's living on her pension and theres some implied stuff that she might have difficulty taking care of Asa since she's aging.

As for the withdrawing money, technically I think that is Asa's money, since its inheritance plus life insurance from the deceased parents. But it was definitely a decision made rashly, and she could've just talked about wanting to buy a laptop to Makio. Although looking at how it went after this episode, it doesn't seem Asa particularly wanted that garage band in the first place, and it was more an anxiety driven decision. Also I think the group that did the song on the TV are the same group that made the ED song.
