Sorry in advance for the yap (understandable if it doesn't get read) As much as I loved this movie, I still got my issues with it as well unfortunately. One of my biggest issues weird the movie is Jean being able to just being able to get away with everything she did. From killing ppl, wreckless engagement of innocent ppl's lives whether they were killed or not, LITERALLY RUINING Bruce's life and had him get taken into a phych ward bc of something out of both his and the Hulk's control. She really did ALL of this consequence free and never got held accountable for any of her actions. Which makes it that much more odd when u think abt how NY treats Spiderman after finding out he allegedly killed Quinton Beck (Mysterio) bc of a fake edited video he made of an illusion of Spiderman killing him. Then my 2nd issue, which is towards Peter. The fact that Peter just seems to not have a care in the world that Jean Gray, the person that not only technically sexually assaulted him as MJ, but also the murders in this movie... Peter at the end of the movie doesn't give any thought or care to the fact that Jean is still out there, and especially when he was facing her in MJ's body and says what she did was unforgivable, but suddenly bc you were wrong abt her motives and bc she was looking for her unknowingly dead sister, we just forgive and forget what she did to him? And when he goes to rescue her, he's like making this like stretching joke while he's like outside of the damage control place, but he's there because he knows that Jean could be in danger and that he knows that the guy lied to him. And of course, she literally is getting tortured in that very moment. But, it just comes across as so tonedeaf because Peter literally knows she could be in danger and he's just sitting there acting like a joking moment, and literally wasting time. Then there's Frank. The way he was handled in his movie only convinced me they never watched The Punisher or Daredevil born again I'm ngl, bc his character has been regressed for genuinely no good reason. In Daredevil Born Again, he was done being the Punisher after what we saw at the end of season two of the Punisher where he actively embraced that role fully, that he is going to be just the Punisher role persona. And now in Brand New Day, he's just making up excuses and being hesitant to help MJ when he literally did this with a character from that show, Amy. Also the fac he tries to convince Peter to kill people in this movie, even believing that Peter is a kid. Like we see at the end of the movie, he's like, "I always thought you were just a kid." And it's like, Okay, this not only goes against what he learned about Daredevil and him understanding that there does need to be people like Daredevil in the world that have hope, even if Frank himself won't change, but also how he treated Amy in s2 when it came to, not wanting her to end up like him. And then the other thing at the end of the movie, he's like, "I shouldn't have done that to Jean. And I saw bravery from you, Spiderman, that I never saw before." It's like, bro, first of all, u deadass saw this with Daredevil😂 But ig he forgot that just like the writers did. But also, wtf u mean u shouldn't have done that (shoot at her)? Jean did horrible shit. Why the hell would Frank feel any guilt and also be in the same boat as Peter about the fact that he she's still out there and actively still dangerous? That's just my thoughts. It as still highly enjoyable, just a lot of things that wasn't done the best writing wise and consistency wise here.
