Dawn of the dragoness

By The Shadow Demon

(Woman into anthro dragon)

Wiping the sweat from her brow, Beatrice turn to nearly half finish small paddock that she had been ploughing since day break. The young twenty-two blonde milkmaid taking a moment of reprieve looking around to see people walking pass talking and doing their task. Watching the series of people enjoying their days their fine clothes showing their wealth and here was Beatrice with land small then her little hut barely scraping by. That had been days that she went to bed with no food in her stomach and with the raising taxes, Beatrice didn’t know how long she could keep this ‘existing’ going.

“Can you believe that Sir Harold is seeking out the Forbidden hoard?”

Beatrice ear perked over hearing two woman walking past her little farm.

“Seriously, how many are gonna try to find that cursed dragon’s hoard?” The second woman explains with expression of slight disbelief, “How many are going to try to find that hoard, the dragon hid it well before its passing it will be a thousand years and it still will not be found”

“Well you know those knights, always trying to prove who has the bigger sword!”

The other woman laugh as the two carried on leaving from Beatrice line of sigh. Turning to the mountain the very shadow of it hung in the sky, a constant reminder to all around it. Like anyone that lived near the mountain, Beatrice had heard of the story of a great dragon through its life hoarding its treasure in the mountain slaying any would-be conquer that tempered to claim it for their own. However one day the dragon was slain yet the hoard was never found, since then many have searched the mountain tempting to gain the treasure, none succeeded. With a sigh, Beatrice just stare the mountain knowing that even a handful of the dragon’s hoard could not only save her little home but even set her up for life. But if the bravest of soldiers and mighty kings could not find the hoard what did she have. With a defeated sigh she returned back to her labour.

Day turn to dusk, having completed her day of work Beatrice enter into her little home. Lighting some candles to give some light, looking at her supply of food only seeing the small amount of bread that went stale two days ago. Hearing the familiar sound of her stomach growling, that constant ache that she knew all too well.

“What am I going to do?” Beatrice sighs, hers eyes turning to a window seeing the shadow of the mountain sitting quietly against the night sky. Turning back to her measly supply of food and even more so of coin, she knew, she knew to what she had she would not survive the next winter. Her eyes turn back to the mountain the conversation of the two women earlier still echoing through her mind. Just a handful of that treasure would be enough, just a handful.

“No I can’t, what chance do I have of finding it!” Beatrice states to herself and yet, her eyes seems to pull themselves from the mountain, from the possibility, from that one chance. From the question, ‘What if’.

Standing up grabbing her cloak and lantern, taking one more look at her home.

“What am I doing?” With that left her home, her focus at the looming mountain.

The track to the mountain was easy enough, though at night the track was far more dangerous during the day, every sound was a potential wolf or bandit, with each noise either it by her or something else. her nerves faulted questioning herself and her sanity.

“What am I doing? What am I doing?” Beatrice continue to ask herself as she reach the base of the mountain and its size itself making her smaller then she felt. Beginning her climb Beatrice looking up to the darken mountain, she ponder that if she died on the mountain at least it be quicker then starving to death. With only the lantern to give her any sight in the darkness only illuminating her close area. Continuing her climb the sounds of the night being the only thing she had as company.

“My god it is cold” Beatrice express covering her cloak even more so, even that it gave no protection to the cold or the wind and yet she still cover herself out of habit then anything else.

Continue to climb the steepness of the mountain, the ground making her slip on several occasions and yet she still moved on. Tiredness was growing in the young woman due to how much she had travelling and by the lateness of the night, her weariness of climbing and lack of sleep where began to compete to who would win.

Her climb becoming slower and slower as the coldness was hitting her far harsher then the climb and her tiredness with her breathing getting heavy and slow. Beatrice just stare at the mountain, the size still making her feel like a mere ant and with the chill of the night hitting her hard, it was no doubt in her mind now. She was going to die on this mountain.

“I would say it was a good life, but I would be ly-” Beatrice began but hearing something cracking, her eyes turn to the ground before feeling the ground falling underneath her and the bleakness of falling.

-

Warmth. Warmth and something soft underneath her, slowly her eyes flutter open seeing a soft glowing and the roof of a cave. Letting out a low moan slowly getting up to looking down to what it appear to be a bed of moss underneath her.

“Strange” Beatrice express placing her hand through the moss feeling it to be warm and soft. How a small layer of moss broke her fall was a question for another time, the first and the most obvious was far more simple.

“Where am I?”

Looking around Beatrice could see that was in some kind of large cavern, seeing soft glowing coming down or up, Beatrice couldn’t tell, of the tunnel. Slowly standing feeling a little sore from her fall slowly made her way towards the soft glow of light. Continuing on Beatrice wonder how long was she knocked out since the sun was out, yet as she continue on the light softly glowing against the walls the more it seem that this wasn’t the sun but something else. Torches, a campfire maybe?

“Hello?!” Beatrice calls out as she reach to turn around a corner half expecting some soldiers, turning around the corner Beatrice eyes shot wide to the sight of an enormous pile of gold sitting in a gigantic lit room. Beatrice just stared slowly entering the room seeing the mountain of gold coins, jewels and other priceless artefacts all in a room with lit torches. Beatrice couldn’t believe her eyes, she had found it or better, stumble into the lost Dragon hoard, still untouched ready for any to find it. Her eyes turn looking around the large room seeing the torches some how still lit and that somehow still lit. with pool of water and another large bed of familiar moss. In all aspects this look like once a well lived area. But Beatrice didn’t care about that, she had found it, the treasure that no one else did and she stumble into it.

“This… this… oh my…” Beatrice smile widen, this had to be dream, some kind of effect she took from her fall and yet when she reopen her eyes it was still there. Walking to the mound of treasure, scooping a handful of the gold, with just this alone she could save her farm, no buy bigger better one. Hell with half of this gold she could be richer then the very lords in the lands, the smile on her face grew with her mind racing of all the possibilities of what she could do with this coin that she didn’t notice the purple scales appearing on her hand as her nail start to grow longer, pointed and sharper. With her mind on all the things she could do with all these riches the purple scales continue up her arm while her other hand starts their change. Feeling a strange pushing sensation coming from her backside, Beatrice attention from the gold to herself turning to her backside, her eyes freeze seeing something pressing against her clothes as it continue to press more and more.

“What the, what’s going on… WHAT? MY HANDS WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME?!” Beatrice cries out seeing the affects happening to her hands as the scales continue to spread up as the pressure of the object behind her grew and grew, yet not painful but strange, able to feel it against her clothes, feeling it move. She was making it move.

“What’s going with me?” Beatrice could only watch as a long purple scale tail with back hair like that of a horse’s mane ran down the tip of the tail burst out, swaying side to side behind her. Beatrice just stared feeling the weight of the fully formed tail, the muscles in it. And her able to move it. As the scales reach her chest, Beatrice look down feeling a strange tingling in her breasts, turning down Beatrice watch her breasts blooming out growing larger showing more and more cleavage, pressing tightly against her clothes as the scales proceed over them covering over them.

“no stop please Argh!” tripping over hearing cracking and popping coming her feet, on instinct Beatrice quickly remove her shoes feeling the tightness of them against her feet. Looking down she could only watch her feet change. First growing longer as the scales reach them, while her toes melded into one and another leaving only three thick toes, while her nails grew out and much like her fingers which could no longer be referred as nails but rather claws, joined them. Beatrice having seen this knew what they looked like, the hind legs of a dragon. The claws, the scales, the tail, their was no denying it she was turning, changing into a dragon.

“please no… no please!” Beatrice whimpers feeling a pressure in her face, closing her eyes her face push out forming into a slight muzzle her teeth sharpening and point, her blonde hair shift the colour hue from blonde to black. Her ears grew longer and pointed as two small horns just poke out of her hair. With scream a sharp pain hit and disappeared as quick, with two large dragon wings burst out of her back destroying the back of her dress and clock in the process. Panting heavily, Beatrice opening her eyes unknowing her eyes also changed with her iris have became slit and pupils changed to a yellow colour, looking down seeing everything that had happened to her. Looking over herself, all the changed that had occurred, and with the ruins of her clothes this was far easier. Taking a moment looking herself attempting to cover herself, slowly getting up feeling her wings on her back flap on instinct giving her a slight lift, this feeling causing a little yelp from her mouth as this was a bizarre feeling.

“What… how is this even possible?” Beatrice quietly ask herself, looking over herself, seeing the tail, her claws, her wings and the ruin clothes that could no way stay on her without her holding it.

“How am I going to move with this ruin clothing?”

Like instant, her clothes started to warp around her, shifting and repairing as the clothes of her once ruined dairy dress turn to a beautiful black with a purple lining dress, tied around her neck to allow her wings the free space. Amazed she look at the fine dress, the elegant dress giving her the freedom of movement and still looking beautiful.

“Did… Did I do that?” Beatrice asks looking at her hands, seeing a slight spark of energy fly off her claws.

“Okay, I have magic now!” looking back to her treasure, the pool, the bed of moss and then back to the hands. With a wave, magic swirl forming a viewing portal, their inside was the sight of the knights… completely and utterly lost. Turning back to her gold and then back to herself.

“Guess it could be worse, like starving to death… just have to make sure that these idiots don’t find my gold,” a smile appear on her face, “Now what can I do to them?”

Beatrice stood watching not knowing that this was the moment, from years to come of the story of the Dragoness, the powerful sorceress and the new guardian of the dragon hoard.
