Monster: Rust Monster Larva (Patreon)

Sometimes you want a monster that's just a little threatening, and nothing inspires fear in fearless warriors like the combination of the words "rust" and "monster."

Rust monsters always looked like insects to me, and that means they likely have different life stages. I thought maybe they could actually be attentive parents, feeding their young pre-rusted metals.

This is actually the first of several creations I'm making that are based on the location of a workshop, which was chosen by patron votes a couple of weeks ago.

Imagine the contents of a smithy slowly disappearing because a rust monster has young nearby and needs to keep returning for more metal.
