Steven Sweet

man, what a bummer. thanks for the extra effort of recutting it.

Ron F.

How odd. Oh well.

Beardy B.

I get that artists have their art stolen and their labor and skill devalued, and I understand the principle, but, who knows? Maybe they could have counter offered and y'all could have negotiated a win-win. I guess they couldn't picture a world where both of you came out better off.

Drago Russo

Well. I have many things to say but....I won't. For some reason I at first thought that he didn't want his art known so that people don't tell him that is "based" orcs or something like that. I am starting, for the very first time, in less than an hour my first 100% homebrew world. I want orcs to be bad guys, however, one of my players is going to play an orc and she has chosen some art that is definitely NOT pig faced. I WANT pig faced orc bad guys. SO I am going to use the stupid name I came up with at like 6 years old. I called them Jumenjaws. It was a stupid name when I was 6 and it is a stupid name now. But if I use a "pig faced" creature and call them Jumenjaws then no one can complain. They will be "orc adjacent" lol. I really loved this video and I loved the discussion about the Caves of Carnage and the orc lair. This was a great video and now it is even better. You really should come to Gary Con. I feel like Deathbringer would be a total hit at that convention. May all your rolls be 20s. Take care sir.

I loved this video - glad it's back to rewatch now and then! Also, sorry you had to go through that.

Lee Dunning

I am so sorry that artist was such a jerk nose! But I like how, despite the ridiculous amount of work you had to go through, things ended on a positive. It's great the mini guys are getting business, it's awesome that you gained a new follower, and it's super cool more pleasant artists got a chance to have their work showcased. Thank you for persevering, Professor. And thumbs up to your charming TA for helping to make the video even at the risk of taking the fall for any marble countertop mishaps.

MrGunn

Dear PDM: I am glad the Orc scandal video is back and better than ever. I love this video, IMHO it is one of your best; it is a Russian nesting doll of goodness with crafting, GM tips, and humor. I eagerly look forward to more like it. Sometimes doing the right thing is a PITA. You showed integrity and flexibility by honoring the artist's wishes, well done. Best, MrGunn

Kelsey (The Arcane Library)

In journalism school, we did deep dives into the First Amendment at every class level. It's crucial knowledge for that line of work. I think this would be useful training for artists, too! They'd be better served by understanding their rights, and those of the public. Ironically, an artist who gets overzealous in wrongly accusing you of misuse is committing a First Amendment violation -- slander/libel.

Scott

Look what trouble these fake orcs are responsible for!

Stefan

Always classy. That’s why I watch your videos.

Evil Chad

You are ... simply the Man. Classy and Respectful as always. Great Video/ Re-video. I also liked Kelsey's Knowledge Drop. Thanks, PDM

John Doe

Classy move given you were within your rights to use his art as you did. Definitely for the best this way!

NØKKEN_WAITS

Sounds like it was a frustrating situation that you handled really well. This is one of your finest videos. Love the mix of GM advice, hobby tips, and makes me chuckle each time I've watched it. Gonna have to scoop up some pig faced bastards soon myself!

Russell Schiffbauer

Yes ty for all the work you do,I think this situation is crap though but you upheld your principal's good for you.

Jay

Outstanding work with an even better story behind it. Thanks for all you do. I need to get some REAL orcs now.

Timothy S Wattigny

I'll be waiting for it on YouTube to make it perform even better this time. More angry dwarf!

samurguybri

I appreciate your integrity and class. In these times of AI and rampant theft, I think we really need to go above and beyond to protect artists. this video has it all: MAps, minis, tactics, fancy headgear, dnd art history and angry dwarf!!!! Does he need a mini? He and DB could quip and complain!

Mark Adams

I find it interesting an “artist” would not want his/her work shown to the masses. My dad is an artist, 60+ years, with his own line of work and you just can’t beat free advertising. I think there’s more to this than that individual wants to admit. But, that’s just me….

Scott Spears

Artists are funky. You handled it as well as anybody could. I look forward to more pig faced orcs, aka real orcs.

Raven Shadowz

I would have been honored if it had of been one of my pieces.

Ben Waters

This was the right approach I think. First of all, I actually like the multiple styles of Pig orc art more than the original. Also though, if this artist specifically doesn't want the exposure, it's a good approach to show others who want it and now the old artist can't keep complaining about stolen art.
