No way I am first. Really?

Drago Russo

I am done. I have finally reached the zenith of life. There is just nothing else for me to do now. Goodbye everybody, I've got to go.

Frederic Schmitt

WE ALL NEED TO RE-WATCH LIKE AND SHARE THIS ON YouTube! TTRPG fans: "D&D will never die!" Hasbro: "Hold my beer!"

Great video PDM, and for sure you called it right on WizBro. BTW, I own both and I whole heartedly agree on Shadowdark, but I'm a little on the fence with Music of The Spheres because of the layout. Usually Harley's stuff is compact and succinct enough that you can pick it up and run it without a ton of preparation; read through it once, print out a couple of handouts and go. And he's one of my favorite adventure module writers for sure. But this one has a lot of words and looks to be a bit of an investment to run. To be fair, I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet so maybe my initial impression isn't quite fair. Maybe I'm lazy, but there's so much good stuff out there, it's hard for me to see wading through stuff that's not easy to run (which is why I don't run the WotC stuff other than the starter set adventures, which are solid). I was disappointed the first time a flipped through it. Thanks for the video!

I bought the DCC core rules a few days ago, holy damn, the quality of the book compared to my 5e core books is astonishing. Also, I got a free pdf of the book from a code within, which is something wotc would never do.

Walter

With all of your predictions coming true I'm shocked we didn't see your shocked face. I agree that most of the talent in the entire 5e product sphere is OUTSIDE of WoTC. Now they don't even have that after laying off the writers after the books were done. At least you'll always have SWEET BEZEL ACTION!

Justin Watson

Just agree wholeheartedly, and I'm firmly on the analog train with you. And I am raising four kids playing weekly. "I'm doing my part." Viva la Resistance.

Dear Professor, An excellent news video, much appreciated. Once again your prognostications have come true, if you make one about the end of days, I will be sure to get on the Ark before the rain falls. No kidding about the digital migration. Interestingly, Hasbro already spun off their Avalon Hill Axis & Allies franchise to Renegade Games. Professor DM, the hero we did not know we needed and definitely the one we deserve. 8O LOL, :D Best Regards, MrGunn PS. DB and I agree, sea turtle soup tastes excellent, and they come with straws too, so you can eat on the run.

I feel like tabletop & DnD are two different hobbies, but the majority of people in tabletop come from DnD. I think the hobby will still thrive but it’ll be harder to grow the smaller games

Scott

I can't wait until Hasbro decides to try selling tickets for a virtual convention...

PDM went Scorched Earth and it was epic. Needed, and epic.

PDM, I appreciate the quick work and quality reporting you provided on this matter. Great job! As for WoTC, well, I hope the fans get what they are asking for. No hate from me out to those fans who enjoy their products, yet I haven’t found anything worthwhile as far as content I could borrow in the reviews of the 2024 products. Also, I won’t be supporting this company in any way. I also have a hard time getting past them firing so many employees last Christmas, their unscrupulous business practices, and the whole OGL scandal. However, I am interested in seeing what sort of online stuff they develop if only to support their independent competitors. I’m very skeptical Hasbro will keep this momentum. I’ve noticed in recent years that many of the previously loved IPs from the past have turned out to be crap once in the hands of Multinational Corporations. Look no further than the movie industry. Yet I digress. The way I see it is if I want to play a D&D type game online there are already so many video game to choose from and there likely will be more. Maybe it’s nostalgia or simply the game I grew up with, but I don’t see myself going to online gaming groups or I would have done that years ago. It just seems too impersonal and well...for lack of a better term weird to me. So when you showed the dive watch and spoke of sea turtles it reminded me of teaching children to scuba dive in the Marinas Islands with a few of my buddies several years back. So yeah, I agree sea turtles are cool and surprisingly fast in the water when they want to be. Anyway, happy you made it out of Ireland safely. I’ve seen some resent news reports from that way and there have been some issues of unrest but won’t get into that here. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and reporting on your next adventure at GENCON. Stay safe and happy gaming. By-the-way, for anyone who might enjoy 5E style gaming, I recommend checking out Bob World Builder and Dave Thaumavore’s YouTube Videos on the Nimble RPG by independent publisher Nimble Co which is still available on Backerkit. Bob gave full disclosure that his video is sponsored and as far as I know Dave didn’t have a sponsorship yet also did an interview with the game creator as well. The rhetoric Dave uses is however indicative of lacking any form of bias as he clearly states Nimble is not better nor worse than 5E or offshoot such as DC20. Even though Bob was sponsored he didn't hold back in reporting the things he didn't like as well as the good. So that was cool. Also, Nimble may be 5E compatible it is NOT really 5E and heads in a different direction with less crunch. In my opinion, it has some great improvement ideas worth borrowing even if you choose not to be a backer. So, I hope a few of you out there might find this useful. Wow! I feel like standing on a pile of furniture, waving a flag and singing “Do You Hear the People Sing”!

A righteous rant. I'll be sharing this on YT with my gaming group. Should make for some fun discussion at the next session.

So glad my group and I discovered shadowdark when we did.

A Name Apart

All I am looking for is, "here are some cool ideas to try out at your table." When people are not talking about that I tune out

We need T-shirts that say “Roleplay Unplugged”

The quality of the Goodman Games stuff is consistently very good. Even when I'm not using the DCC system, I'm often using their adventures. For example, running Doom of the Savage Kings in my OSE campaign right now.

Ruben Benes

I'll have to take a look at that one then! I usually run homebrew stuff, but I've been running Misty Vale (Dragonbane) recently, and it is fun to mix it up a bit :)
