Test2: Less comfortable, unless you had chalk and a blackboard and were delivering a lesson. That's be cool.

Test 3. I think it drew something away from your stance and projection.- Although you looked comfortable

Test4. Speak from a lectern. If doubl chin bothers you, mount it higher so you're looking slightly upwards.

I definitely preferred you on your feet. You seem much more dynamic than when you sit. Also, I find the shelf and the chair rail distracting though I imagine you'll be renovating the room to mitigate those distractions or incorporate them into your background better. In conclusion, I prefer the screen tests where you're standing the best and, of those, Test #4 is my top choice.

PDM Take fresh look at you current framing and set. For me as a viewer, I "feel" like I'm a student paying a visit to my department chair professor during office hours (posted assistance times). I tried the TA but they're not you! Your arm is on your desk as you turn away from some grant proposal and I'm seated on a functional but not too comfortable elevated swivel stool that lets me spin around to the "Chalk" board and work out the question / answer. The stool is an old technique you picked up along the way doesn't invite students to "linger" beyond the "grok" point of the discussion - There are other students. Enjoy the new space and my vote is to recreate / improve the current set in the new space. Does also probably need some acoustic dampening on one wall for echo control.

I’d say 3 or 4... having the shelf in there is problematic cause you’ll never get it to be symmetrically lined up with the frame. You might wanna consider staying a bit wider when if you’re standing cause your freedom of movement naturally fils up more space. I kinda liked being able to see passed your waist when you’re sitting, it’s different from all other you tubers, looks kinda like Alistaire Cooke in masterpiece theatre. Any way you go you must now do all your videos as Werner Herzog, that was hilarious.

4 was my favorate, but 2 could work with a book shelf and some props behind you. I liked the standing takes more than the sitting ones; you had more energy that way. 1 looked like you were filming in a small box. You would have to lose tha chair rail. 3 was ok, but less dynamic than the standing takes.

Graham Kane

Although I agree you look very comfortable on the your feet I think I prefer the takes where your sitting. It gives a more intimate vibe. For some reason the standing videos are reminiscent of so many of those *Top 10" Watchmojo videos that are just so common. Just my 2 cents.

Dear PDM It's all good. Standing is an interesting (good) change. More energy?

DM Wisdom

No matter what you do......as a long time videographer you may want to try to get away from the wall....some 5 or 6 feet if possible. It will look a bit more dynamic and you can set up more props.

I preferred #4 the best, and it had the least reverberation. I assume that will diminish with more items in the room? You're the Professor - I'm picturing you on the other side of a desk. I'm a big fan of background knick-knacks, things that show a little bit of personality. Like the goblin D20 is fun.

Test 3 and was the best. Test 1 and 2 looked like you were in a tiny box. Test 3 and 4 didn’t look crammed. I think you looked more natural sitting as opposed to standing. You also would be consistent with previous Dungeoncraft videos in which you were sitting. You could also showcase your backdrop with whatever you decide on it being.

Jay

Test 3 and / or Test 4 look good. Test 3 seems comfortable and Test 4 may be good if your feeling energetic. I would guess Test 3 is best overall as default. If you aren't feeling well or injure a foot at least you can find comfort in a seated position.

Daniel Defazio

I think I'm going to build the set to accommodate #3 and #4. Jeremy at BMC has different POVs. Why can't I?

Larry Garms

Hands down, #3. It gives that spacious feel that we're use to seeing. Also, you seem much more in your element while seated; focused and personal. Standing is okay, but you seem a bit more animated ...and that takes away from that direct connection you're known for. No matter what you choose, you'll still be upgrading your performance and channel. It was never the atmospherics or top-end filming locations that made you great, it was you. You're the center stage of your UDT! Looking forward to the changes!

Jay

Seems like the right idea. I'm sure there won't be any complaints.

4 was my favorite. The simplicity helps to focus on you and not the room. Though, I do think 1 could look great with some of the tweaks you were talking about making, especially that large bookshelf overhead. It's a small space, but the right aesthetics could take it from cramped to cozy. Might work well for horror videos.
