So this Saturday, we will shoot the 200th episode of DungeonCraft. My player, Maria, asked if she could interview me. I have agreed.

We are now open to question submissions. One is already "What Are the Things a New DM Should NOT Do?" So don't ask a variation of that. You can ask anything else and I will answer them on the extended version the video. Maria will make the final picks.

The questions should be broad and general interest, not wonky (descending vs ascending AC, etc).

Thanks, and may all your rolls be 20s!

Have you ever ran a game that is not dark and gritty? Assuming you have: I further assume you hated it and moved toward what would eventually become “Deathbringer” (which I think is awesome). So, my real question is, do think there is a way to employ this style of play and mechanics in a setting that is not flavored so cold and brutal (dark and gritty) - and if so, how?

How do you utilize maps? Have it on the table and show parts/whole dungeon, or just describe verbally and use UDT for encounters?
