At Jeffcon in NC where I will be running games with DM Scotty, Jim the Tabletop Engineer, Hankerin' Ferinale, Baron DeRopp, Wyloch, and others. Consequently, there will be no new videos and I may be slow to respond to messages. BUT I will be shooting video for NEXT weekend, and it will be cool.

If you are attending JeffCon, don't hesitate to say hi. I'll be everywhere, running and playing games.

May all your rolls be 20s!

Where is JeffCon??? I am in NC and would love to attend.

Charlotte, Jeffcon aka MACE, it is the last one as the sponsor, the eponymous Jeff, recently passed.

For those of you wondering: JeffCon aka MACE 2022, is from November 11 through 13, at the Hilton Charlotte University Place, in Charlotte North Carolina. Fun fact: DMScotty is from the Charlotte area. Mace is/was North Carolina's largest gaming convention. They are calling it the last Mace because after 25 years of running tabletop events, JustUs Productions is closing it’s doors. JustUs Productions was the corporate entity that ran Mace and is closing because of the untimely death of its founder/owner Jeff Smith. Mace was the best known NC gaming convention, it moved to Charlotte NC which has a population of ~1M, and had some affiliate cons, Mace West in Asheville NC and a defunct Mace East in Greensboro NC, if memory serves. I do not know what the 'demise' of Mace means for NC gaming conventions going forward. There is the Playthrough Gaming Convention in Raleigh in March, but Raleigh gaming cons have come and gone over the years. Interestingly, the collective cities of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, in central NC are known as the, Triangle. Known for the Research Triangle Park, a tech incubator in NC, and includes tech giants such as Cisco, IBM, Pfizer, Biogen, Lenovo. The triangle theme carries over to the areas three largest universities, Duke, UNC, and NC State. The Triangle as a whole is larger than Charlotte, about ~2.2M people, but this is spread out over the three cities. I don't think there has been word on a Mace replacement. (Note, any inaccuracies are due to ignorance not malice)

Already have run into PDM a couple of times at JeffCon. Looking forward to chatting again before the weekend is over.

FYI: I spoke to the folks that organize this event. The name change from MACE (aka JeffCon) will now be Mythic Con and it will be twice a year EAST and WEST. Asheville NC in March and Charlotte NC in November. I’m out of Atlanta so this is an easy trek to NC to make. It gets added to my list of conventions: GaryCon (March), Gamehole Con (October), and North Texas RPG Con (June). DragonCon is in Atlanta in September so that’s a sure thing for me. I’ll probably go to Gen Con (August) next year if no schedule conflicts.

Great update! Thank you for sharing this valuable information. However, I have a bone to pick with the organizers (of course you do Gunn... uggg); east / west cons based on Asheville and Charlotte! Asheville is wester, if you will, of Charlotte, and is considered the far West, whereas Charlotte is just West. Also, why no love for the Tirangle or Triad, for that matter, where is the Wilmington love. Why is the RDU area getting the cold shoulder? Are those Queen City Kidz too kewl for the Triangle, are the Asheville vegetarian tree huggers too snooty for beach folk with their fancy mountains, or do they, gasp, just prefer tomato in their BBQ sauce? They should just call it Mythic Con West and Westeros, east / west, pshaw!

Fabulous to meet you!
