Update on Deathbringer RPG (Patreon)

First, thanks for all the well-wishes. COVID isn't nearly as bad this time around. The last time I was incredibly tired. This time I just have a cough and drippy nose.

Mrs. PDM told me I was not allowed to make videos while recovering from COVID--but she didn't say anything about writing! I am 12 pages into 31 of the expanded non-OGL version of Deathbringer. Not promising anything, but I am making progress and will release it ASAP. After seeing the success of Knave and Shadowdark, I am inspired but--but also forced to move in a different direction. This is a good thing, and I am REALLY excited about it. 

It's dark now. I'm knocking off for the night. But I'll be back to work at 5am!

Fantastic! I've been running Deathbringer exclusively with my middle school groups, and I have found it to be right in my wheelhouse. I'm excited to see your tweaks. I think the "Hamburger Helper for your D20 RPG" is a very marketable notion. The Deathbringer die were a real selling point for me, and they're always a hit with my kiddos.

Glad to hear this round of COVID wasn't too bad. People tend to not realize that 3 of the 5 common colds are coronaviruses. With the way the novel coronovirus 2019 is trending, it looks to end up being 4 of 6. Doesn't make the early versions any less bad, but at least new bouts are unlikely to be nearly as debilitating. Looking forward to the new Deathbringer.

I'm glad your antibodies are doing a good job in the battle against those pesky Corona invaders. Very excited to see what you come up with. All my life (since ad&d) I've been home brewing but ever since discovering your channel it's been in over drive. I play ad&d eacg every week. (I'd play every day if I could ) but the game u okay is something totally home brewed. Compatibile with all, ever changing and somehow still d&d...oh yes and it's most of all fun .... And a lot of my succes is dude to your insights and ideas. I can't thank you enough...ps: through you I discovered Ben, rune hammer, Kelsey and Scotty and others....as once down the rabbit hole there is no turning back. Very excited and hopeful for a Deathbringer Kickstarter campaign. I think it could be very, very successful. Deathbringer is a fantastic system and needs to be placed on the shelf alongside Shadowdark and Knave. It's a great collection and distillation of all your philosophies and ideas about RPGs.

Definitely listen to Mrs. PDM on this one. Current variants of covid are significantly less dangerous to most people. Even to the point I'm no longer considered an extreme risk and I have a chemo-suppressed immune system! So if you don't do anything to aggravate it, you should be back to normal sooner than later. Apparently being a bit active afterward is also important to help prevent some long covid symptoms, but explaining that requires more microbiology than I currently understand.
