The Lost City video is flatlining. If you could watch it again on YouTube and like it, that would help. Also, share it with your friends. And enemies. Both may result in improved numbers. Also, if you can think up a better thumbnail concept, I'm all ears.

I'll probably drop a new video sometime this weekend. Kind of tired from the continual editing of Lost City and editing Deathbringer. May all your rolls be 20s!

I'll share it with my group! It was really fun to hear about.

Will watch this video again. Shared it with a friend this week, and we both really appreciated it!

Bagel-Man

That’s sad to hear. I’ll watch it 10 more times :D

Brian Peters

Yes sir 🫡 I’ll watch it on my lunch break again tomorrow and pass it on to the group on my discord. I want to see more like this. Let’s keep the torch burning!

baldrage

Put Taylor Swift in the thumbnail and you will get 250k watches.

Firstspear

Will watch again, but I can only like once. Maybe add something about DnD Retro Gaming? DnD still shows pretty strong performance on Google Trends for YouTube searches - and just to clarify DnD outperforms both D&D and Dungeons and Dragons

Adam Preset

Rewatching now! And I have posted to the Discord where my friends and I hang out.

I’m so tired of YouTube click bait title headline like subscribe nonsense. This is one of your best videos in my opinion, it’s just painful that quality is of no interest to the avid doom scroller. Watching it again now and will share as widely as I can.

I’m going to watch it again right now. I watch a lot of YouTube on my TV so I can’t leave comments, but just want you to know that the Lost City video is one of the very best videos of yours ever. I played it partially through way back in the 80’s with my family and this video brought back memories.

This has to be my favorite so far, so will watch a few more times. As for the thumbnail, I gotta admit it’s not the best one you have done. Below are some ideas of some great shots you got that might work. Hallway @ 0:52 - mysterious yet dynamically lit. Backlit PC @ 2:29 - shows off the minis and captures the mystery of the adventure. Party Pose @ 11:48, just seems to remind me the most of the Lost City cover art. Comber with Zargon @ 21:14 a very dramatic but may be a bit of a spoiler as the thumbnail. DM Scotty(?) @ 4:38- cameos in more ways than one.

This video was soooo awesome! Happy to watch it as many as needed!

I had my wife and kids watch it a couple of time so they know they don't need to fight every encounter to the death. No matter how many times I told them they refuse to listen, but this video helped drive home the point that they could actually distract an opponent and walk away so they can conserve resources for the big boss man.

Does the algorithm care if i "listen" again at 2x playback speed?

Hi. Just wondering... If most of your fandom / patreons won't watch the YouTube version just because they already watched the vimeo one with additional content...... why not publishing YouTube version BEFORE extended Vimeo ones? Maybe a one or two days gap would suffice. Also, set tracks on Vimeo version to let us patreons skip the content published on YouTube (in case anyone just wants watching the new content). That way you would keep us viewing both YouTube and Vimeo versions. You could even announce the patreons only coming extended version on the YouTube one.....

A Name Apart

I personally hate hate hate the gaping mouth soy face thumbnails

Van Davis

I would say look back at the thumbs you did for Veiled Society...less comedic beard, "Oh Noes!" face, and more illustrative of the adventure being recounted. Additionally, maybe a title with better key words and more informative content? "B-4 The Lost City - How I Ran This CLASSIC D&D Dungeon, and You Can, Too!"

Bryan Stephens

Ok also running it on my wife's account

Papa Zaph

To arms brothers and sisters! We must fight against the evil algorithm!

Frederic Schmitt

Shared it on Discord. Not on your discord, but on mine. Only 120 followers though ^^

Listen, I'm going to be real with you here, I almost refused to watch the video because of the "every trending YouTube O face" thing you had going on in the thumbnail. Having watched the video I fucking love it, but the thumbnail in no way reveals what the video is actually like. That stuff only appeals if your audience are children. Embrace your full inner death bringer and focus on the art of all of it, not what you think will get clicks.

Graham Kane

Watched (several times) and shared. I hope the proles finally start to appreciate it!

Rufus Lynks

Started to watch but had to step away. Not sure when I'll get back to it. I appreciate the need to manipulate the YT math to free up your time for more content, I prefer the shorter, more intimate (personal), videos. However, I have to manage my time as well. The punch in the face infodump and anecdote sort of format is pretty awesome. For me the longer formats need to be more of a podcast I can "also listen to" while engaged elsewhere. But... that limits what I ultimately take away since I'm focused on key highlights to take note of. If this is the new way, I'll work to adapt.

Daniel Defazio

I'll try the text. The Veiled Society thumbnails did not attract views, which is why the supercut just features a very attractive woman. That got more views.

Daniel Defazio

Thanks. This is an experiment. In the past I've released the videos as a series, but I notice viewership takes a dive after episode 1. That's why elected for the long form. We'll see what happens.

Daniel Defazio

Good idea. Problem is I promise as a part of your Patreon membership to give you early access. PLUS, lots of patrons go hype up the video on message boards.

Jim Van Cura

Indeed we do. My boys are 8 and 10 and we watch together. They love Deathbringer’s “humor” :)

Bark Madly

PDM, your decision to change thumb nail to showcase the collabs was a great choice! Even made me re-watch it 😂

james O'Boyle

you should do N1 cult of the reptile god, you could even connect it to Tomb of the lizard king

This just makes me sad. I leave your videos running on mute all the time at work. I even stalk the new drops and make an inane comment to boost the old algorithm. I'll go run it again.
