I had the same reaction, don’t worry. I read the book first and it had me in TEARS so often. I’m not really a movie kinda guy and wasn’t planning on watching it but I’m so glad I did. The emotion, the twist, the message, the acting, the cinematography?? Phenomenal. This better win all of the awards I’m saying!!! It showcases humanity is such a hopeful light and that’s something I really needed right now especially with everything going on. GAHHH it’s too good. If you’re interested in the book I highly recommend listening to the audiobook!! It’s incredible!!

this is technically my 8th rewatch of this film and i cried about 6 times throughout so definitely NOT just you reacting this strongly to it! this film was actually life changing for me! also, the voice for rocky is actually his lead puppeteer, james ortiz!

Sorry I wanted to answer cause it's a reference I didn't understand at first. Adrien is the name of Rocky Balboas wife in the movie "Rocky" thats why it's the name Grace picked to be the English version of Rocky's mates name and also the name of the planet.

I think one of the many reasons why this movie is so good is because we has so much doom and gloom in out stories and media now adays, everything is either sad or bitter sweet. This was just a genuine feel good movie, even through all the tears that I KNOW we all cried, it left us smiling and filled with joy.

My husband and I went into this movie without any prior knowledge about it and we both cried so much too! It was just a random movie to watch when we didn’t know what else to watch and we were so shocked by how much we loved it 👏🏻 This genuinely is one of the best movies I’ve seen in my 30 years of living 😍 like 20/10 score!

Like you said, I never got around to watching this when it was in the Cinema. And … yeah this was amazing was it not! Now I want sequel 🤩 But based on this, if not for Patreon, then just for yourself: I highly truly recomend the TV Show «Wondla». I know its on Apple tv+, and its more difficult then to watch. But it was such an amazing Sci-Fy Animated wonderfull amazing show. I loved it so much. So I will leave it here in a comment on another amazing Sci-fy reaction 😊 Its 3 season, with 8 episodes pr season, so about the lengt of 1 season by old TV series standards 😊

im not sure if someone has commented this already but the voice of rocky was actually done by the head puppeteer! they were originally going to cast a voice actor for rocky, but after spending so much time rehearsing with james ortiz (voice of rocky/puppeeter) ryan and crew decided no one else knew rocky like james did :)

Yes! I’m so happy this won the poll it was sooo deserved. Niall if this finds you I highly recommend you read Red Rising by Pierce Brown. It’s essentially hunger games meets star wars and it’s probably the best book series Ive ever read. So much space, so much battle, so much drama. I think of it every time you rave about space movies lmao.

Was SOO excited to see you react to this; it seemed like something you'd enjoy !!! Also a plus that you appreciate and understand complex + morally gray female characters like Stratt! I've seen a number of people regard her as evil and unfeeling for her role in the project but there's so much nuance to her and her situation, and her short relationship with Grace. I don't typically enjoy sci-fi movies, but I was glad my friend practically begged me to see this with him in theaters lol!

thx nial out of curiosity and cause your a fun time... I finally watched this movie. somehow the trailer turned me off so much but it was actually amazing? Incredible. IF I see a replay in a cinema I will go. ALso devoured the audiobook and loved that even more! Can highly recommend, it goes into more detail that the movie couldnt. love the craftmansship of this projekt.

I had to subscribe again when you posted the youtube edit of this and I realized (kinda late!) that you had reacted to this. I just couldn't not watch the full version, because this was truly a life changing movie!! I was also crying a bunch, and have cried more on subsequent rewatches.
