A never seen before mission for round 3 of SMTM11 is here and we got... DRAMA! As per usual with Mnet, well really this was a lot of fun to watch and not even that bad in terms of drama as I thought it would be based on last week's preview!

For anyone that'd still like to download the reaction or prefers it over the player here, here's the dropbox link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/ntf6mg9odd0mujk/SMTM11_ep4.mp4?dl=0

Introducing such a fun new mission was a really good decision

Schnaaki

3 hours? damn! there goes my evening...

This was so fun to watch, glad the smtm subs subbed both eps so fast :)

new me

This season just keeps getting better

It really is! I'm happy they actually kept that under control for the most part, this should be back for another season in the near future and I can't wait to see that again. Really fun idea

cru3l_tmo

I agree, this is a very competitive season with tons of new/underrated talent. I hope it keeps on delivering like this

cru3l_tmo

I liked the old 1v1(v1) battle a lot too, but this is just a different kinda thing. I think both have their pros/cons, but it's nice to have a new concept for round 3. It has been a while we changed that up.

My biggest complaint about SMTM now is that contestants can make mistakes and still pass. Damini and Polodared should have been out here. But they're gonna keep them because they're good for ratings. I feel like this show is not even trying to pretend like it isn't rigged anymore. Regardless of that I still thought the mission was fun. If they ever do this again I hope they use real instrumentals instead of drums. It's fine to try it one time but I think having an actual turntable just sounds better.

You're not wrong about this, but this will always be a thing though. I think it's most shit in 1v1 battles and Round 2 (giving a pass for a shit performance), but Mnet created smart battle designs so that it doesn't feel as bad for the public eye when someone makes it through, because really its a collective team decision (both producers think about it carefully) and technically anyone could be eliminated. It's a bit sucky, but it is what it is you know. I do think that someone like Lee Seul Lee here, who was decent and performed solid, should be eliminated regardless. Yes, she did solid. But where's the talent for winning a show or really growing much? It's not there (yet). One could argue now that that's the whole point of SMTM to teach them more and give them opportunities, but in a world where more and more rappers appear everywhere, you need some talent to at least promote yourself and make it further in these things. Even if you're very raw still, (Fleeky Bang), at least have something unique/promising about yourself. I'm moreso speaking for eliminating people like Lee Seul Lee and not so much for letting people that failed pass. I do think best of the best would be if Lee Seul Lee gets the pass, Damini & Polodared get booted and then there's a survival round. Smth like that you know.

Timichi

Yeah I get what you're saying. I don't really like revival rounds either lol, but it's an entertainment show. It's not meant to be a totally raw hip hop competition, the contestants that bring more eyes are going to be the ones Mnet saves every time. Like you said, it is what it is

Maki m.

Same I agree, I also hope we get to see some disses soon haha if they do it this season.

Lee Youngji should've been gone too, considering they eliminated somebody in Season 4 for not preforming during the cypher.

Timichi

That's a fair point. But Youngji is Mnet's golden child this year lol. They were never gonna let her go
