“Lady, yer insurance only covers fixin' your flat tire.”

Welcome back, Gnome Pals!

Been a wild week and weekend for yours truly. Got snowed in, so thought I'd try out some new features. What do you all think of the single-panel comic? Many of you probably remember "Gnome Shorts" a few years ago, and I thought it was high-time to bring back a single-comic feature here on the Patreon.

The name of the comic is still being workshopped, but I'm really excited to start featuring the comic. And, I'm really liking the look of it. Hope you all do, too!

💬 Some Gnome-Spun Truths:

As a Minnesotan, we have a lot of weird words some of you may have been exposed to before. Casserole is called Hotdish, Soda is called Pop, drinking fountains are called Drinking Fountains (they call them bubblers in Wisconsin).

You don't want to know the words we have for snow. As I write this, I just dug out of a 12" blizzard (with a little more to come overnight) and I am exhausted. But that won't keep this grouchy gnome from passing along some expansion art to my adoring fans this week. And, maybe if you catch me on the Discord, I can tell you a few more killer Minnesota phrases!

✏️ Gnome is Where the Art Is.

This week there's going to be a continued focus on nostalgia, but more for my millennial pals! Going to be a showcase featuring the sinister Sedusa!

✏️ A pinup for the $2 tier, while $6 and up will be receiving a speedpaint and extended scene where Sedusa expands Sara Bellum later in the week!

❄️ Wednesday, I'll be focusing the inner turmoil I felt shoveling snow by showing off a special bonus treat: Elsa from Frozen! Just a pinup, but one I'm pretty sure will delight. You definitely won't swipe past this busty queen, will you?

And, at the end of the week: a new single-panel

🔦 Patron Spotlight: Captain Rocko

Cap has been following my work (and commissioning me) for years. Having a handful of incredibly interesting characters, I've always found great inspiration from his submissions, and have always counted on him to pop up in the comments sections of my posts for a word of encouragement. Here are a couple of my favorite commissions done throughout the years:

I reached out to Cap to ask what it is he looked for in an artist. Here's what he had to say:

I've been a fan of expansion and transformation art for a long time and I have hundreds of ideas that I wanted to do but I'm not a great artist. I look for artists that capture my vision of what I want. But I also want an artist that can take my idea and make it even better. I may want my OC Elastic-8 to show off her elastic powers and Gnome would have her arms be like bending noodles but you can see where they go and what they're doing. Another artist I go to, Elek-Tronikz, does great expansion art, and really knows how to make the characters look Big.

Thanks for giving me and the community years of support, Cap! Everyone reading, did you have an artist who handled your OC well and would like to recommend? Pop their name down in the comments below with a link to their Patreon!

And when you're done with that, go to the commissions collection to see some of my past works for other patrons. I'll be adding more and more of my backlog there as the weeks go on.

😘 Thanks for reading!

I'd like to put out these newsletters as often as I can, so come back Mondays to see upcoming work throughout the week and month to follow. Thanks, and as always...

...keep dreaming!

Gnome Pals get letters?! Another great reason why I bumped up to the $10 level!

Gnome Illustration

But, Pals get lots of extras like sketches, inks, sticker pinups and more in the future. :)

Would I have gotten it at the $6 level? I think not! 🧐
