Akumi design experiments for a new mobile game I'm working on. It's cute but I don't know if this is it. The design explorations continue...

It is very cute, if you’re torn between having a new Akumi design or wanting to keep her original outfit, you could always just make the character her daughter/granddaughter or even a sister/cousin; that way you can keep the continuity and any design you want. Of course, this is just one suggestion, always willing to help if needed! 👍🏻

Mobile game what kind. The design here looks good cute always suited Akumi.

What kind of theme are trying to go for in this new mobile game. Knowing a tone you would always helps flesh the rest of matter and figure out. Example: Horror or Spooky Akumi would be wearing a suit or outfit with more dark pattern like blue, green and red. Fantasy: being more bright palettes. Sci-fi: Cool tones (I'm sorry I hope this helps in someway, great work as always looking forward to what got plan next 😊)

That's still in the development stage too. I want to try a couple different themes and see which one gets me inspired. So far, exploring more sci-fi themes.

Thanks! It will be a tower defense mobile game.

That could be an interesting idea. A universe where she has a bunch of sisters or relatives that look like her and help in her missions.

Moommm, Milton is cooking again D:

You really are going all in on game development eh! Let me know when you make a shank style 2D side scroller beat'em up or a metal slug style shooter or maybe a combination of the two.

I do like this design but for a mobile game it feels a bit busy, especially the hair and the red details. The proportions are great, though maybe a bit bigger head and nix one of the ponytails?

miltoniusarts

Yeah I agree. I'd fallen into the trend of over detailing my art which doesn't really compliment my cartoon style.

Greg

I think it does compliment and this piece is very well done! But the details would be lost on a mobile screen thanks to the size of the screen. This has a great shape and silhouette, it's the details that would need to be streamlined. I could see the floating bits on the ankle and the floating hair being fun cosmetic items or even a way to reflect various powerups similar to how Mario's hat can change.
