More sketches in this new yet old style. I think it's more about the energy rather than the reality of it. In some images I make the hands and feet big blocky shapes and I like it for some reason. The simplicity, I've always loved simple shape design in character art.Excited to start making some more finished works from this and then animate some of these ideas.

Love the sketches by the way.

Thanks! For some reason it's so fun to make these chunky hands and feet xD

Messed up my scheduling so this time it will be Saturday Sketches instead of Sunday. Brain fog the past couple days.

I'm overall really.liking this sort of chibi style!

Yeah this style is really enjoyable for me. It's simple and pretty fast to sketch out ideas with. I can fill out these sketchbook pages at a pretty rapid pace. But the fun factor the most important. I want to see a bunch of characters and ideas done in this style.

I have issues starting a sketch myself. Figuring out just what to draw and deciding on a pose. Any suggestions on overcoming this?

They’re all great, but I think the second is the best one, with the third’s expression being a very close second

That's my girl Betty with the hammer. Maybe I'll put her in the new Akumi game. I have too many damn characters. All will have their time though.

If you’re going the cutesy route for the new game, I think she’d be a good edition, especially for a more tomboyish character and design

Sunday, today is Saturday sir.

I would say just try different art styles and techniques and see what hooks you. I like looking at art that inspires me and trying and seeing if I can implement it into my art. As you can see my art has changes a lot through the years, Even exploring different tools. I'm just constantly exploring. But I happened upon this recent sketching style when I went back to drawing on paper. It never came to me when I was drawing in my ipad or directly into my computer. I guess my brain just thinks differently when I'm sketching digitally as opposed to on paper. Makes sense though. My art was born with pen and paper not in a computer.

As for deciding on what to draw/pose, Google poses and draw the first pose you see, no contemplating, no thought. There's something about removing the decision process and just get straight to the drawing. I do this as well. Make general figures if you can't think of a subject. You can see I do that sometimes in the sketches. Just a bald blank figure is me not know what character should be.

Greg

Wonderful advice, thanks!
