Merry Holidays friends! I know it's been a while. I've only ever been able to focus on one thing at a time and the past month+ has been me focused on my move back to California. Above are the pinups I've yet to post so I figured why not post a sample of what's coming.Creative ResetI believe everything happens the way it was supposed to. This break away from art gave me a much needed reset. I can see my art with fresh eyes again. Come back to it with a playfulness and curiosity that I lost in the pursuit of "money" and "success". There's a place for that but I let it hinder my creativity. Ever in the search of what I thought would bring in the cash. Anyway, I've spoke endlessly about that part of my journey. I'm ready to let it go and move on.Friends and FamilyMy solo journey helped me not only focus on my art but also helped me appreciate more what I have in terms of family, friends and opportunity. I really have been blessed my entire life, in all areas, when I look back. It took going away to see clearly my past up to present day. I love contrast in my art because it makes things obvious and clearer, the same can be applied to life. Life goes Fast and it's ShortThat's what she said XD From here on out, I want to enjoy life, the creative act and the people in my life. What does that mean? I'm not even sure, I'm not striving or pushing to have everything figured out anymore, already did that. I want to be present and follow the direction I'm pulled in when I'm aligned with the universe. Life is so much more simple this way.But here are my general interests:

Learning Blender 3D one step at a time: sculpting, topology, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting. Each is a massive undertaking alone. I was trying to absorb all of it at the same time. No wonder I was overwhelmed each time. I spent 40 years crafting in 2D, spending the next 40 years crafting 3D sounds fun.

Playing pickle-ball with my sisters. Taking walks with my mom and the dogs and touching grass more as the kids say.

Traveling more, exploring this world. I've always loved seeing new places. Visiting Vietnam again with my family. Going with them to visit Europe.

Playing more video games with my nephew and friends

Taking up archery with my nephew. He gave me his old bow he used when he was 15 yo. He's too tall for it now but perfect for me xD.

Making animations again...

Glad to hear that your doing well after your travels, trip / moving, and that your reset and excited for new ways to approach the future. Just remember, you hit the new year resolutions a few days early. :D But it's good no matter when to find ways to make your life better, and your mind happier / more stable. Cheers man, and keep that outlook if possible.

Thanks man. Yeah I'm excited for the future again. For a while it was looking pretty dull and predictable. But knowing I'm the only one steering the ship lets me change course if I don't like the direction.

Thank you. I did buy it so I'm taking steps. What a story it would be to my teenage self that I have to convince myself to play games. xD

Greg

do your best to play it with friends, it's great!

Glad to hear it man, I float along the edge of creativity, apathy, and disgust with society. So I can totally understand how it's nice to see the future and know that it's yours to control. Hope you enjoy the different activities that your new home open up, and meet some friends that aren't limited by..... Mindsets / beliefs in your new area.
