Ideas and sketch exercises. My well of ideas has run dry. I think it's a nudge from the Universe it's time for me to move on, evolve, take my art to the next level. What does that mean? I'm still on that journey to find out. But learning new ways to use my art in 3d and other software has my attention. I'll start there.I'll still draw for the meditative purposes it brings, emptying the mind of junk through the practice. Last sketch I did while listening to a NDE podcast (Near Death Experience) The guy telling the story described seeing a soul in a sort of cocoon with two light being on either side of it he assumed we're angels. He felt cocooned soul exuding pure evil. The NDE guy says he thinks this was a soul that had separated himself so far from the light, in the afterlife his soul needed to heal from all the negative energy. He said besides seeing this, everything else on the other side was pure love and light. Onwards and Upwards!

I love the sketches. There is a crunchiness to some of your recent art that is interesting, like a sharpen filter was used in rendering or more jagged brush was used. The soul cocooon is quite interesting in concept and design, and the he-man and she-ra are very nice to see. I also how your perspective work shines again here. Excited to see where things go, especially with 3D

Thanks! I've been using the technical pencil brush in Procreate. It's also what I use to draw on paper so I think it's more natural for me than the ink brush. I don't mind perspective as long as I don't need to draw the backgrounds, make my brain hurt. 3D is happening behind the scenes, slow and steady.

Color version of that one is scheduled to post later.

Ahh hm maybe ill have to try that out. my current method is using the blackburn drawing brush to draw, and then erasing the sides to refine the line or curve. Keep up the good work!

Whoa, you drew He-Man well in your style😆! One thing I love about your way of drawing is that it’s very detailed and versatile, yet still stylistically distinct. It’s like, the base is there, and more and more detail is allowed to keep piling on and evolving the art, which I’ve been seeing a lot of in your past drawings

I appreciate that! Ever since studying traditional 2D animation, I’ve loved stripping characters down to their simplest, most essential forms. Once that foundation is solid, I can layer on as many details as I want. It’s like building a house: I start with the structure, and once that’s in place, I can design the rooms, add furniture, and shape the whole world around it.
