Hello Patrons! I figure I'd try to share with you my journey to animating Akumi once again since I just started this last week. Monday I dove into trying to start the Akumi Animations Series by sketching ideas.  I began with a brand spank'in new sketchbook!

First thing I drew, a splash page! Drew the first characters that came to mind. As you can see, my style is altering again ever so slightly. Akumi isn't as long and wirey but still thin, Glory Bros are these very basic  shapes.  I drew a demon portrait above everyone, an idea for a demon enemy or possibly an old boss of Miltonius? And of course Rhoncha and Lester.

Animation is HARD!

I mean animating full episodes, voice acted with a story and all, it takes time. But we're gonna do it! It's why I had to cut anything not related to Akumi out. If we're ever gonna make Akumi animations and story really happen 2019, sacrifices HAVE to be made or making this project will be another pipe dream.  I've been studying my ass off watching "Sakuga" anime to fill my creative mind up again. Sakuga is that part of anime that gets super fluid and high quality when important events happen or a battle happens. There's so much to learn but I'm excited to take myself to that higher level.  It's why I purposely stayed away from social media most of last week. Even posting my art to promote burns a lot of energy and is a distraction from what's truly important, the Akumi project.

Studying and practicing this art form is so time consuming! But the results will be worth it.  I'm spending this Sunday night stock piling updates for you that will be scheduled to post this coming week about my progress the last week, that way I don't go radio silent on you for too long. We still have weekly NSFW content to do so I'll always be updating you with that.

Onwards and Upwards!

I have to say this drawing looks sleek and sick. Love the motion and the shape and lines. Everything is well-defined even if they aren't fully drawn. A sense of scale and volume per character is there. I love it! Animation is hard and I know first hand how discouraging it can be when you have to deal with the scale of the project and it seems too large. Never stop pushing against it! Hoping to see more akumi content in the future. Maybe more refined updates of what fat you have trimmed? What you will keep from.previous iterations? Maybe some worldbuilding as well?

Thanks man! I’m glad the energy is showing through with this. Really that’s the key. The result is nice but what is the energy/passion behind it all? That’s the intangible ingredient for our success. Yep, you being an animator, you know the mountain of work ahead. You won’t be disappointed, like Rocky said, I’m going the distance. Each Sunday, I’ll put together design notes on what I worked on that week to move the Akumi project forward. There’s gonna be a lot to share! It’ll become more refined as we go and oh yes there will be world building! Tons of content on my development process coming to you this week!

2026-10-24 06:00 Oooh.. You mean the demon at the top *could* possibly be Adimonde? A demon, that's a good idea. The old one, this is so cool. Since he's "the old one" would it be fair to design him, well. Old, older than Nulgath that is. Or do demons have something where they don't actually physically age after a certain point or something. Interesting.. Loving lester btw!

Don't know yet. When I think of older, I usually imagine something wirey and decrepit which is cool in a creepy way. So it's still in the air right now what shape he'll be.
