So I worked on this the past two weeks to really understand what I could accomplish using a more traditional animation method. Not relying so much on Flash mechanics. I like the results. Surprisingly, it doesn't take that much more effort or time to animate this way.
Akumi Wars Update
I talked to Adam the other day and it seems his programmer Xero has been in beast mode and hard at work on the game engine behind the scenes. Adam said he was shocked at the progress Xero had made without either of us knowing. We have a game engine foundation to build a game on!
What model will Akumi Wars use?
I told Adam I'd rather have a complete game than a game frame that is constantly added to like "free to play" games. Which means, Akumi Wars would be a one-time purchase. If there's any add-ons, they would be small expansions like a lot of Steam games do. But I want to make a quality game from beginning to end and move onto a new game. That's right, me and Adam plan to build multiple games together. The journey will finally get some fire going 2019!
What does this mean?
Well it means I need to put my focus here has to shift fully into Akumi Wars. I need to plan out and build this promotional Akumi Wars animation and then... well... build the game. You saw all the characters I made last year. There's much more needed as well as more maps, backgrounds, interfaces etc. I'll find ways to let you all participate in the development process. Those of you that commissioned an Akumi Wars character, your character will live in the Akumi Wars game soon!
Onwards and Upwards!
