Akumi Redesign Ideas (Patreon)

Okay, I know some of you are against changing our main character‘s look but I think it’s time  for something fresh.  I get bored with drawing the same things too much. I may do some more concepts later.

The first sketches are what I’m leaning towards. I like the shorts and vest for a more casual look but I also like the body suit with a cool pattern. It may be a bit too ”super hero-ish. Still very rough ideas.

What are your thoughts?

Yep, look how many redesigns any popular character gets. Akumi would definitely like to sport different looks for different settings. It’s time for some new looks!

Bodysuit easily, for me. You can always do both, but I gotta see her curves. Love em!

I say as long as she inexplicably doesn't have pants/has bare legs I say go for it. (I'm just imagining things like shes at a formal event/meeting a royal client and she has a nice dress top or similar situations)

There all very nice. I don't think having various outfits would be a bad thing, for example the One Piece anime tends to give wardrobe changes all the time. I think it add some variety to her design especially with different weapon combos to go with them, like more sword or blaster types. I liked her sword in the last animation and her sword from the original was really cool. Like if she had different outfits for different situations like the body suit could be what she uses for space combat. It would also give us potential skins for any future game ideas. :)

Oh yeah I've dressed her into formal wear before in the past. It'll be nice to see some current images of that.

Agreed! You see comic characters have multiple outfits all the time. I think it'll be a good thing to explore different looks for Akumi and see which one naturally becomes the most popular. I think people are digging the body suit as it's been mentioned a couple times now. :)

Yup, yup! I think that will be the next Akumi outfit I do a final design of. Now for color choices...

I personally love the image thats enlarged up on the screen now. After reviewing them all I adore the fact of seeing Akumi in a full body suit. It just... It feels right. My perverted side wants it to be skin tight and very defined. But the full body suit idea in it's entirety is amazing

Then I think it's decided, we most definitely are getting a body suit Akumi as a new outfit. I'm gonna work on a color mock-up this weekend! Stay tuned! :D

Yes me too. It's such a cute look so she'll have to have the shorts and vest look as well. Gonna work on both the body suit and shorts/vest colors this weekend.

Agreed! It's decided, Akumi will have different outfits for different occasion. I think her look is unique enough not to confuse people.

I'm sorry but I disagree it's not that the body suite isn't a great idea I actually liked the design of it but it's just that the body suite seems overly serious it kind of Harkens back to all they other serious body suite wearing heros like Sam Fisher , Solid snake and Samus Arron maybe it's just my weakness for girls who dress in this fashion but the shorts and vest combo seems to be that in between of seriousness and cute happy go lucky attitude that Mr.Pool admits he wants Akumi to have he doesn't want her to have to much of one or they other the shorts harken back to character's like Yuffie , Revy , and Lara croft these characters are a mixture of both seriousness and cuteness.

I agree. We'll have both. The shorts and vest have a perfect feel for what Akumi is. It keeps her look thrown together instead of a clean, carefully thought out look. A bounty hunter look is definitely more the shorts and vest. But the body suit just looks cool and I haven't made anything like that as a main character yet. But I adore both so we shall have both. I suppose the most popular look will make itself known in time. :)

Thank you! I’ll slowly get my work back online for the public again. After YouTube took my work down I’ve had to search the archives for the originals again. So much to do! 😆
