Updated version of "Hat Girl". I'd forgotten but I did make a version of "hat girl" on my old 2004 flash website and named her Misty. ( Shown above in the last pic. ) Not sure why but I gave her a bit of a airplane pilot theme in the old version.

One thing interesting is seeing the old design side by side with the new and seeing.just how different your style is. It's definitely the same style but a more refined and evolved style. The faces as you do now are so much different than before but it definitely derived from the earlier. I think the most striking differences tho is the way you color. The character is not as flat and carries tones, gradients and texture. While she still looks 2D, the character has volume. Makes me wonder if you took that old work, converted it to line art and colored it in with your style now if it would fit in or if it would still appear to be an older work

Never thought I'd see a leotard Jersey and they art style update is very cool 😃

Nice observations. It's always interesting to look at my work through someone else's perspective. Yeah, I've always loved the flat color look but adding just a hint of gradient or shading really takes things to a nice balance. It's the art direction I want to bring my game's art style.

Thanks! I've done plenty of sketches with that leotard Jersey but this is the first cleanup art I've done of it. :)

One thing I forgot to mention was the effort to translate my sketches into a digital color format. Flash especially since Flash wants to change your drawing style as most artists' who have used it know. Instead of fighting this, I took what Flash did well naturally and implemented it into my style.
