RIP to Kate she is gone but not forgotten and will be referenced many times throughout the rest of the show. It sucks that she died but props to the producers for having the guts to kill off a main character which is very uncommon in this type of show.

How long did we have to wait? Just short of 4 months. 3 months 27 days.

RIP Kate - looking forward to Season 3 and seeing how the team copes

The passage of time: Generally speaking, the episodes take place on the day they air, +/- 3 or so days. This episode aired May 23, 2005. The car bomb goes off during the day. That night Ari tries to blow up Gibbs. The next day, as they are driving to where Ari is, Tony asks Kate what day it is, and she says May 24th. Also, at the beginning of the episode, Gibbs tells Tony that they got a lot of work done in the last two weeks. This matches with SWAK airing on May 9th, two weeks earlier.

Just to let you know, Sasha (Kate) chose to leave the show. At this time of her life, the hours required for filming were more than she wanted to do (lots offsite, long hours etc).

Then end of an era ... the beginning of a new one.
